first of all, the overall characters would've been equal as in -

Male leader - Steve and Jonathan

2 kids from og 4 - Dustin/Lucas and Will/Mike

1 Female - Robin and Nancy

and a New comic Character - Eddie and Argyle,

not to mention we could've gotten a much better break-up scene, some more Nancy-Mike scenes actually acting like siblings and a heartfelt bond between Nancy and El (as she always looked upto her as a safe figure).
