New Mobo/RAM/CPU combo - no POST with Red/Yellow LED on with 00 debug code
I've bought some new components (see specs below) and tried to assemble them today. I've run into major problems that I can't seem to fix. I've been building and upgrading PCs for years and this is the first time that I'm worried I've bricked or damaged something.
The system won't POST or get to the BIOS no matter what I do. The very first time I booted, nothing came on the screen but the debug LED numbers seemed like it had booted successfully - the numbers were fluctuating in the high 30s which from googling seemed like it was showing the CPU temperature after booting correctly (even though nothing was showing on the screen).
When I rebooted, I then got nothing at all - the numbers weren't changing and were suck on 00 with the red & yellow LED lights on. My research tells me that this is some kind of CPU issue. I thought it was maybe the BIOS version was incompatible with the 9850X3D so I downloaded the latest BIOS from MSI's website and used the flash from USB function. Nothing really seemed to happen. I've reseated the CPU a few times and checked the socket, a couple of the pins looked like they were perhaps slightly off so I tried to gently move them back. I've tried moving RAM sticks and using only one.
I'm really out of ideas and thinking I have a dead motherboard for whatever reason - either I've done something wrong or it arrived faulty. Does anyone have any ideas of what to do?
