Air stage on the last day was succhhhhh a vibe. Looking for the ID to this one
My family and our friends have been traveling around Italy for about a week now and have had a couple of interesting paranormal experiences at the Sina Palazzo Sant'Angelo Hotel in Venice, as well as at a couple of other places in Italy. The hotel sits right on the Grand Canal, and I was unable to find any history about the building so if anyone has any insight I would be interested to hear.
To preface, my family has a long, consistent, and slightly frightening history with paranormal experiences, so none of this is new to us. I just thought I would share, since I saw several people online looking for information about paranormal experiences or places to stay in Venice who did not have much luck. I will list them below.
The room we stayed in at the Sina Palazzo Sant'Angelo was 220, overlooking the back garden. It had a section for a couch, table, and extra bed, and the main bedroom had two twin beds pushed together. There were three of us staying in the room, each on a twin bed. We had several interesting experiences with it. The first night, my sister woke up to a clattering sound at 2:00 am, followed by a second at 2:02 am. I did not hear either sound because I sleep with earplugs and an eye mask (literally for the purpose of not waking up to spiritual encounters because I have started to develop insomnia, and the anticipation and fear of it happening keeps me up at night). She said she got up in the morning to check and found that a corkboard of some sort had fallen, but she couldn't find any second item that could have explained the second noise. This was the first thing to happen in the room, and we didn't think much of it because it could be explained away.
The second night, I could not sleep, and to preface this story, I have a very strong intuition and frequently predict events (or what I call "receive a notice from the universe") before they happen. Tonight, I had a feeling that something related to my bed was going to happen. At about 1:18 am, my bed shook back and forth for about 7 seconds. I honestly thought it was an earthquake at first, but none was ever reported.
My sister was up at the time (she was staying in the other room with the couch), and I asked her if she had felt anything. She said no, and I asked if she would sleep with me because I was scared. She is small, so she was able to fit in between the two twin beds without falling through lol. After that, I fell asleep, but was awoken again at about 5:30 by the bed shaking. Again, I assumed it was an earthquake, since aftershocks occur for hours after the original quake, but none were ever reported. The third night, my bed shook again.
My mother suggested that because Venice is a port city, there may have been nearby activity, such as cranes unloading cargo, that caused the shaking. I actually do believe that may have been the case, but what confused me is that 1. Only my bed shook, 2. My sister was sleeping in the crack, so her body would have stabilized the two beds, and it wouldn't have been able to move as freely as it did, 3. I am the only one who felt any of this (the second time it happened, it was intense enough to wake me up), and 4. My family has had incidents in the past with spirits shaking beds, albeit it was a lot more violent and involved being grasped while it happened.
This is interesting because we have had this happen at two hotels now, the one in Venice and at Hotel Fasano in Lake Garda.
I have a vintage watch (probably from the 1920s) that I bring with me everywhere. It is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry, and I always know where it is. When we went to Lake Garda, I noticed that it was showing the exact time, which is strange because I have never dialed it before and have had it for a year and a half (I got it in Boston), and obviously, we had a 6-hour time change. Maybe it was a coincidence, but I did think it was strange.
One night when I was getting ready for dinner, I could not find it anywhere. I brought two 3x3x1.5 jewelry boxes with me to hold all my stuff. They are very small, and I have OCD, so I checked them each 4 times. The watch was absolutely not in there before dinner. I had a feeling it had been taken, so I said out loud, "Please just put it back when you're done", zipped up the jewelry boxes, and went to dinner for about 4 hours. My family has a history of our jewelry being messed with my spirits (it will be all tangled, and then an hour later it will be all back where it was supposed to be, so I actually wasn't too worried). Lo and behold, when I got back and unzipped my pink box, there it was sitting amongst my necklaces.
In Venice, we had two interesting incidents. One was tamer; my mother left her necklace on the bathroom counter, and in the morning it had been moved and shut into a hotel box, with a bit of the chain hanging out. She thought we were pranking her because the night before, we had an incident with my friend Katie's necklace. Katie also has OCD and is very deliberate with her things, setting out her jewelry in straight lines in an obvious place so she always knows where it is. She has a necklace with a coin as the pendant. The coin is a real piece of treasure from the Nuestra Señora de Atocha shipwreck, which sank in 1622.
Katie, my sister, and I are very close and usually do not go anywhere without one another. Tonight, my sister and I went to my parents' room to talk to them, and Katie went back to her room by herself. About three minutes after we said bye, I got a FaceTime call from her. She was freaking out because her necklace had been repositioned in a really strange way. I have attached a picture that she took. It's pretty interesting. I looked it up, and Nuestra Señora de Atocha never made port in Venice, but seeing that it is from the 1600s, it may have been of interest to a Venetian spirit. The way that it's positioned is definitely deliberate.
Once again, we had two incidents, one in Lake Garda and one in Venice. In Lake Garda, my mom told us she woke up in the morning to find her lipstick bottle taken apart and left on the carpet. This is interesting 1 because nothing was cracked or broken, and one of the pieces had to be physically yanked out of the base in order to be taken apart, and 2 even if it did fall, it was on carpet and so would not have made hard enough of an impact to break apart anyway.
In Venice, my sister was doing her makeup. She has one of the blushes from REM beauty that has a clear top so you can see the blush inside and a long tube (I will attach a picture for reference). You have to open the outer case of the blush by about 2 inches to access it.
All three of us were in the room. I hear her say "wtf where is my blush". Katie goes over to my sister's part of the room, there's a clatter, and I hear Katie say, "omg wtf just happened. That just fell out of thin air."
My sister tells me that she had picked up the blush to check she had the color she wanted (she has three), and walked over to the mirror to put it on. When she went to take it out of the case, she saw through the clear part at the top that it was gone before she even opened it. That's when she said, "Where is my blush?" She turned to Katie, who had walked over, and showed her the empty tube. As she opens the tube fully for the first time since she picked it up, the blush falls out of her robe sleeve.
Katie swears she did not see it fall out of the sleeve and that it seemed to fall out of thin air. There are blush stains inside the sleeve, so evidently that is what happened, but it is pretty inexplicable, and there were two witnesses.
My sister and I also had a really strange and intense experience at the Doge's Palace, but I will make another post for that. If you are looking for a lightly haunted hotel in Venice, this is the one! We are going to Florence now, so I will update this post if anything else happens!
