My 2026 halfway ranking

I also want to note, I didn't dislike a single game that I've beaten this year, even the bottom spot on this list was great (I generally just don't beat games I don't like).

Both give into and resist corruption from an ancient celestial being to save the world - and you have to do it fast.

Hint 1: >!Released within the last 5 years!<

Hint 2: >!Part of a very major franchise!<

Hint 3: >!One of the game’s most notable aspects is its boss themes!<

Narrators who are a character but not a main character

More (Metaphor: ReFantazio)

Accord (Drakengard 3)

Tengen (Jujutsu Kaisen)

I just really like having a character who essentially recounts the events of the story or otherwise relays it to the audience who is also kind of on the sidelines because it just makes them feel a lot more mysterious since they seem to know everything that's happening at any given time.

(also no spoilers for metaphor, i only just started on it)
