I also want to note, I didn't dislike a single game that I've beaten this year, even the bottom spot on this list was great (I generally just don't beat games I don't like).

I just really like having a character who essentially recounts the events of the story or otherwise relays it to the audience who is also kind of on the sidelines because it just makes them feel a lot more mysterious since they seem to know everything that's happening at any given time.
(also no spoilers for metaphor, i only just started on it)
