Gaming performance

Can't really finda a definitive awnser for this, but I'm torn between Fedora KDE, Tumbleweed or CachyOS for my gaming PC.

Between CachyOS and Tumbleweed, I think I'll go with the more stable OpenSUSE distro, but am I really gonna feel a difference in performance if I just go with something even more stable like Fedora, even though it's not rolling release?

Please help me choose my first linux distro!

I'm looking for my first Linux distro and, even after some research, I'm still torn between a few choices. This is my first ever Linux experience.

I don't mind tinkering around and learning about linux in general, but wan't to avoid an unnecessarily frustrating experience if possible. I was thinking of going with GNOME since I want to try something new and broaden my perspective.

My PC is a full AMD system, with a 5700X3D and a RX 9070. I use it mainly for gaming, browsing and lately I've kinda interested in game development.

So far, these are my options: ChachyOS, PikaOS, Nobara, NixOS or Fedora Workstation.

Fedora Wokstation sounds super nice, but I'm kinda worried about gaming optimization, that's why I'm also considering Nobara. I've heard super good things about the ChachyOS kernel for gaming, but I guess a more stable distro would also be nice. PikaOS souns cool but I've heard there is only one dev behind it and I want something to really stick with, learn and adapt to my daily use. NixOS is supposed to be really good, but it sounds complicated.

Screen flickering during windows install

I have a RX 9070 anda a R7 5700X3D. After probelms with stuttering, I decided to do a fresh windows install, but I'm met with this everytime I try to do so, I can't even click on continue.

Already tried two thumbdrives and two different windows builds.

Except for the stutters, the PC works fine otherwise.

Dual GPU setup

I just saw a post about someone that used a second GPU to set up loseless scaling and it doubled his FPS and much improved his experience.

I recently also just sold a GTX 1060 for super cheap.

I knwo SLI is dead, and wasn't very practical anyway, but now I'm wondering, are there any other real uses for a dual GPU setup or is it only really usefull to help with loseless scaling?

Was techpowerup's FSR 5 Scarlet Cortex Preview actually an april fools joke?

It's been well over a month since techpowerup's article was published and I'm still very confused. Nobody talked about this ever since!

Is this FSR 5 Scarlet Cortex thing legit? Are we really getting FSR 5 on RX 9000 series? Am I still being fooled by a joke? Why did they not reveal it as a prank?

So many questions...

(edit) HOW COULD THEY DO THIS TO ME, I WAS SO HAPPY

Montech Century II "click" noise - please help

I just bought and installed on my setup a brand new Montech Century II 850W PSU.

The PC works as intended for now but the power supply is making weird random single "click" noises that are not super loud, but quite audible.

They happen specially when turning on and off the PC, as well as when the power draw increases. I tested it with the smart fan config on and off, but the clicking noises keep happening.

Also, it really doesn't sound like an issue with the fan, it sounds more like a loud light switch or something similar.

I found many people with this same exact issue on this century II model, but there hasn't been a definite answer about the cause and I don't know if I should be worried.

If possible, I would like to not RMA it, so I really wish this is normal and I can just keep using my PC, but I never heard anything like this in other PSU I've had in the past.

I would love some help with this, I fought so hard for this PC and now I'm scared something will happen to it.

THE RX 9070 ROCKS! I'M SO HAPPY

Just want to share my happiness with you AMD fans.

After a long long time of saving money and waiting for my new PSU to arrive, I just upgraded from a 3060Ti to a RX 9070 Challenger from Asrock.

Nomad scores leaped from 2.488 (stock 3060Ti) to 5.979 (stock 9070). With just +10% Power Draw, -95Mv and +80Mhz to Clock Boost on Adrenalin, I was able to get to 6.592! Super happy with these results, guess I won't event mess with memory clock.

The rest of my setup includes a R7 5700X3D and 16 GB of 2666Mhz janky ass non matching DDR4 memory sticks (wish i upgraded before the RAM apocalypse). Also, the PSU I just bought is the 850W CenturyII by Montech, seems good so far.

Special thanks to my GF for supporting me on my hobbies hehe.
