Taping off walls and floors to caulk & repaint baseboards?

I need to touch up and repaint my baseboards.

I have a dark color on my wall. I was planning on taping it off to protect them, starting with caulking then painting the baseboards. Should I peel off the tape while the paint is wet like it’s advised to do with the walls? Or is different with caulk & baseboards?

I haven’t found any YouTube videos on this. All the help videos are for painting the baseboards before the walls, I get that that’s the ideal order, but mine are done & don’t need to be repainted.

I need it to support 3 monitors and a cat desk bed.

I’m also trying to figure out the best way to securely raise the table top enough to be able to attach the cat bed?

The idea of adding risers and just letting it sit on top without it being drilled in seems unsafe. I ideally want to find a way to drill both ends so there’s no risk of my fat cat tipping it over lol

I don’t feel comfortable letting it just sit on top. Would like to add risers but can’t find a piece to drill on both ends - drawer and countertop.

I ordered some of these risers off Amazon for my ikea desk setup. Now that I’m looking at it, I realized you can only screw it into one end. For those of you using this setup, is the Karlby countertop stable enough just sitting on top of these risers drilled into the top of the drawers?

Are there any options that I can screw into both sides?

I’m having a hard time with the corners. How do you get your roller properly in there to avoid brush marks? Should I be cutting a thicker edge?

Update: THIS IS A TINTED PRIMER. Walls were still wet when i took this photo. Snapped this picture in 2 seconds, then I went in with a brush to fill in these spots right after. I did not let it dry like this.

I just wanted to know best technique for the corners so I’m prepared when doing the top finishing coats.

I used Emerald Satin on my walls last weekend - hate it. Re-doing it again this weekend in with Emerald Matte.

Should I sand? If so, what level grit?

Same color. Dark Swan.

Guy at Sherwin Williams said you can’t sand water based paint, but I’ve learned my lesson trusting them. So I wanted to check here first.

The Sherwin Williams guys were awesome and exchanged/gave me a gallon of Emerald Matte paint. I also have a p5 primer.

I haven’t touched my walls since initially applying a thick coat of Emerald Satin paint with no primer. My walls and baseboards are still stained.

Should I start with the wall or baseboards/ceiling first?

Should I add primer to make sure the matte sheen sticks well over the satin? Also to cover imperfections from my first coat of paint? If so, how many coats?

Any other advice before I start painting again this weekend?

Vet recommended trying hydrolized protein food to help with my cats chronic vomiting. My cat is super picky and will only touch Purina one CHICKEN and Friskies TURKEY SHREDS. If anything else is put in front of him, he will starve himself for days until I give in out of concern.

My other option was a novel protein. So any recs on brands for this is also appreciated.

My next question is should this be change of food be made gradually or all at once?
