Honey gourami and 7 ember tetras in a 10 gallon

So I’d consider my tank decently planted. But my honey gourami chases my ember tetras. Mostly after feeding time. But she also does it when I’m watching the tank. I assume it’s because they think I’m about to feed them. Is there anything I can do to stop the chasing? I feed her directly. I feed in separate areas of the tank. When I’m watching the tank from far away, they all seem to get along. Can I add any more plants? Or do I just need to get a bigger tank?

Can I add Pygmy Cory’s to my 10 gallon?

I have 1 honey gourami and 7 ember tetras. I really want some bottom feeders to clean the extra food from the floor but my ph isn’t great for shrimp or snails. I have more plants on the way. A tiger lotus and water sprite.

Male or female?

So I originally thought I had gotten a boy but I posted a video on here yesterday and someone said it was a girl. I’d love if it was a girl. Can anyone confirm?
UPDATE: she’s a girl and I named her Alice 🥹

I love this fish

Just got my honey gourami today! 10 gallon with 7 ember tetras. He was glass surfing for a few hours. Then calmed down. And he’s eating the bladder snail eggs! Which is very convenient. He’s super active and not shy at all!

Mystery snail less active

Lately my mystery snail has become a lot less active. It started after I began feeding homemade snello. I used fluval bug bites, carrots, broccoli and gelatin.
Water parameters are
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 15-20
Ph 7
Temp stays around 78-80
He still moves around but he’ll stay in a spot for a full day, sometimes 2, and he used to move around the tank all the time. He’s closed up tight in his shell right now. Should I be concerned?

Ember tetras already know I feed them.

I’ve read that a lot of people experience their embers being shy. I got these guys on Monday and any time I come up to the tank, they all come to the front. They’re adorable

10 gallon for honey gourami and ember tetras

Almost cycled. How’s it looking? Should I add anything else? I threw in some dwarf water lettuce. I’ll probably grab some more from my other tank eventually

Day 1 vs 18

I had the worst anxiety about having a fish. Everything he did made me scared that he was sick. Everyone on here has been very helpful while I’m learning what’s normal betta behavior. Here’s a little transformation. His colors have gotten much brighter. First picture is day 1. Second is day 18

Honey gourami for my new tank?

So I originally got this tank for pea puffers because I thought a heavily planted 10 gallon tank would be okay for 3-4. But I’ve seen so many people advise against it that I started looking into other options and I found a Honey gourami. I’m thinking of one. I plan on adding more driftwood, maybe a couple large rocks and TONS more plants. Are honey gouramis smart and interactive? I have a betta and I feel like he’s super interactive and always near my hand when I’m doing anything with the tank. I want a silly smart fish. And are there other tank mates that would be fun to add?

Starting a pea puffer tank.

I’m gonna spend a good 2+ months just planting and designing it. Can I see your pea puffer tanks? What plants do you recommend?

Gill flukes? Flashing?

Posted a video of this guy yesterday because he’s been doing this since I got him. The video I posted wasn’t that great. This is a better one. Is this normal or should I treat?

Gill flukes?

This is Merlin. He’s been doing this swimming up and down the tank, side to side. Pretty much since I got him. Now that I think about it, I think he was doing that in his cup, which is why I picked him up 😆 water parameters are fine. I got a bunch of plants thinking maybe it was just too open but I ordered meds anyway. He does it a lot. Is it safe to treat him even if I don’t know for sure? I also got a mystery snail, Gary. Picked a snail safe medication

I’m panicking a little bit

This is my first fish tank. It’s 5 gallons. I originally got 3 amano shrimp. They all died after I added my betta. I don’t think it was the bettas fault. He left them alone. I think it might’ve been because I was vacuuming the sand and I didn’t know that could bother them. But anyway. I found the first 2. Took out the bodies.
The third one just passed today and I went to grab it with the turkey baster and it literally disappeared. I cannot find the body. I moved everything in the tank. Looked under rocks. Moved the driftwood. Is it going to kill my betta if I can’t find it to remove? I’m having the worst anxiety. What should I do?
