What being CF made room for in your life?

What exists in your life today - a relationship, habit, career, friendship, or simply a way of living, that may not have existed if you had become a parent?

Please don’t say travel, freedom, money etc.

For me - It has helped me to transform emotional wellbeing, personal crisis and career setbacks to a much better life phase.

What have you stopped wanting?

What is something you quietly stopped wanting after getting into 30s?

Not because you got it already. But somewhere, you realised you didn’t want it anymore.

Maybe it was a fancy apartment.
Maybe having children.
Maybe becoming an entrepreneur.
Maybe living abroad.
Maybe even finding “the one.”

Not a dramatic confession. Not a “life lesson.”

Not a dramatic confession. Not a “life lesson.” Complete this sentence:

“At this age, I have finally realised that …………..”

No judgement. No advice unless someone asks for it.

I will start: At this age, I have finally realised that I am not as successful as I thought I would be.

Getting into Forties has made me think about things I never expected

I thought forties would eventually bring answers. Instead, it has sharpened the questions and made them harder to ignore.

At 25, I believed life was about becoming someone who is successful, attractive, respected, financially secure and loved. At 40, I wonder how much of that ambition was truly mine, and how much was inherited from other people’s expectations.

Now I dont care less about winning arguments, impressing strangers, or being universally liked.

Sometimes what we call it “maturity” when we have simply learned to live with our compromises. And I keep returning to one question.

Have I actually grown? or just learned to justify myself better?

I’d genuinely like to hear from people 40+. What did life quietly prove you wrong about?
And what truth are you still not fully ready to face?
