How do you mentally motivate yourself to make changes to save money.

I would save around 10 dollars each say by skipping the bus and walking to subway around 6km at 4am and 7pm but mentally get scared. Even though things as tough how do you push yourself to doing small things to save money

Deep down would you be disappointed in your child if he has alopecia doesn’t have friends and isn’t that intelligent but he has two jobs work hard as he can?

I always have this gut feeling that my parents are disappointed in me. I get jealous of the way they interact with my cousins. I’m usually isolated by everyone because a lot of them think I’m a druggy and also dont interact with me much. Every time I talk to my parents it seem like they are sad when they look at me. I just want to make them proud. I work two jobs so I can give them money

I even tried to start a handyman business and it failed and because I made content and tried marketing I made some video to advertise. People have been asking my parents how that’s going and I think it a way that supposed to be condescending and I think they may be upset with me about that

Shutting down handyman business

Hi there,

Just want to see what you guys think. I started a handyman business in 2023 but didn’t obtain any clients till last year. I met this individual that held a lot of properties and he provided me with loads of work. I was unable to get more clients and was the sole provider of work. Lately I been doing around a few hours with him now around 10-15 hours a month but the problem is that my overhead and other expenses don’t make sense from me to continue. I don’t need a car + insurance + fuel with my day to day as I use public transport . I went back to working a regular job. I want to shut down the business and was wondering if any of you have any advices.

I didn’t make much over the course of the year around 3-4 k dollars of profit after taxes and other expenses.

I want to also end this business but also thank the one client that supported me. What are some ways I can help him?

Applied for a job as a handyman and part of the onboard I was told I need to do a skills test where I worked at the owner house to prove I’m capable but after completing the tasks. I haven’t heard from them and haven’t been paid for the material and the labour. He is also a multi millionaire.

Hi there, I applied for a job with a big company as a handyman and then went through three rounds of interviews and then they required me to do a skills test where I had to meet with the owner at a site which happened to be his home to repair a few task that he wanted. I was told that they will pay me for it. He gave me a list of task to go through which I performed except one which was repair masonry work for a 20ft column I told him that I wasn’t comfortable doing that due to the safety as well I don’t think I could guarantee that it will turn out good as he stated he fired his old handyman because he didn’t do a good job. After this he became bit rude. I spent 3 days working for him and spent around $600 on material. He began to question everything I did and now I don’t know where to go as I’m out of a lot of money and I needed this job.

Edit: I just got to accept the fact I got scammed. I didn’t do good research on them and I can see that they have a lot of lawsuits. I don’t think I’m going to proceed with legal action because I’ll be digging a bigger hole if I were to proceed with that route. Just want to learn to let go and accept the fact that

Feedback on telling a client that could of provided me a lot of work that I’m unable to do a job as a handyman

Hi there, I’m a handyman. I can do basic things in all trades but I had a client who owns a lot of property ask me to do work on his property. I did a lot of work but the one of the item I denied and told him that it’s better to find a professional is these stucco foam post. He has a 20ft post that has these fluted post that need to be adjusted. He said he had another handyman work on it but didn’t like it and fired him. For me it’s that I don’t think I can guarantee perfect result or can do it safely as I can’t access the other side of the post. I told him I will offer to help him find a contractor that specializes in this

I told her I’ll attend the site in an hour since I had someone equipment opened but then while I was heading over I gave her a call which she didn’t pick up and then called the store and she told me she doesn’t need me anymore and go someone else. She’s a manager for a big restaurants chain and worried if I messed up and lost a customer

I mentally can’t get over it. I just feel that I need to take care of them and bend over backwards to do what I can to make them love me. They are very blunt with their disappointment. I was diagnosed with adhd and had learning disabilities so they basically gave up on me. They used to tell people that I’m a friends kid to stranger and I get angry because they love my cousin. They tell people he’s their son. They are going on a trip and I feel jealous. Every dollar I made I gave to them to show that I care and it’s never enough and I don’t think it will ever be. How can I stop being jealous of my cousin relationship with them
