House built on infill land

House built on infill land

Going through conveyancing currently for a bungalow and the searches have come back showing the house is built on a small area of infill land (old sand pit). It’s almost comical how it’s virtually only this house, might have to repost in r/fuckyouinparticular

Our solicitor is checking with our lender that they would still be happy to lend knowing this.

At the moment we’re not overly concerned - our level 3 survey found no signs of subsidence, the natural land stability represents a negligible risk of movement (not clay), and the area (0.17ha) seems small enough that it wouldn’t have been too deep.

However we don’t know how deep it was or how it was filled as historical maps only show it between 1932-1961. As I understand anything filled before 1974 didn’t have to be recorded and so there are no details of when that took place, by who or how. All we know is the house was built roughly around 1980.

We would be looking in future to add an extension and are aware that might need some extra strengthening to be on the safe side. We’ll see what the lender’s view is but what would be your view? Sounds terrible but usually not a big deal? Huge red flag? Grounds for price negotiation (excuse the pun)?

Counting loan spells towards Journeyman status

Real poor from the Beeb - loan spells are a fact of most early careers and only transfers should be counted here. A quick review:

Ravel Morrison - claim: 6 clubs; fact: 3 of these were loans
Nathaniel Chalobah - claim: 7 clubs; fact: 6 loans and then a transfer to one of those clubs
Josh McEachran - claim: 7 clubs; fact: 5 were loans
Freddy Adu - claim: 8 clubs; fact: 4 loans
Matej Delac - claim: 8 clubs; fact: one of Chelsea’s many many academy players always out on loan, including back to his original club, 6 other loan clubs
Ryan Bertrand - claim: 6 clubs; fact: 5 loans and didn’t transfer at all until days before 25th birthday
Alen Halilovic - claim: 6 clubs; fact: 2 loans

Hasselbaink’s inspirational revisionism

On talksport this morning (where else) in a conversation about the best striker ever (always breaking new boundaries with their debate topics) Hasselbaink suggested that R9 was one of his inspirations to become a striker. I’m not au fait with Hasselbaink’s early career and whether he started out in another position, but considering his senior career started the same year as R9’s youth career I think he might have just made it up, but whyyy?!

Full Time Whistles

Not for the first time, there’s confusion as to whether the whistle for full time has gone or not. I don’t think I’ve heard the correct peep peep peeeeep all tournament so far. And has pointing at the ball(?) or centre spot(?) always been part of the routine?

Great Wakeup!

Saw this comment in the World Cup sub and was unsure if this is a new thing or simply an Americanisation I’ve not come across?

It’s presumably fairly synonymous with comeback but in this instance wholly unsuitable. South Korea were well on top before going behind, with 8 shots to Czechia’s 2 in the first half, and therefore were never asleep in order to wake up.

Kit contrasts in cup finals

I’m not a fan of this blue vs light blue cup final. There’s clearly not a kit clash and I don’t care about it as a league game. But in a cup final? I’d like a bit more contrast between the two teams, can’t really explain why

Fair to say this game was “lacking in quality”?

I’ve never seen such low player ratings across both teams
