Single dads are Heroes
For the men out there who have your children 50% of the time or more, still pay alimony and/or child support, coach or are active in your child’s sports and extra-curricular activities, play board games, read to them, take them on trips, do everything you can to make your children’s lives full and emotionally regulated, I salute you.
We are a new breed of men. We changed and adapted to an experience we didn’t have has kids. We didn’t allow the failures of our marriage to destroy us. We might not feel the best version of ourselves, but we still wake up and show up every day for our kids. You are amazing!
I’m just so proud to be a dad even if I failed as a husband. And hearing my daughter tell me everyday about how much she loves me is all I need to keep going. I hope you all who are in the same boat lean into the awareness that you are doing something almost no men have ever done before you. You are a rockstar and I salute you!
