Sights around Bako you might not see

This week we ended up running in the same area as last week, but on a different route. Here are some of the things you probably don't see around Bakersfield because you're on the main roads. We never know where we'll run, walk, and jog through next, but you're welcome to join us. It's a great way to make some friends and see parts of town you might otherwise miss.

Towards the end we got a beer at Mercado Latino and later ended up at El Patroncito on E California and Mt Vernon for tacos and more. Come see what the Bakersfield Hash House Harriers can do for your mental state!

Do you want a reason to get it off the house, make some good friends, and have a little fun while exploring Bako? Well, we can help you with that! We're the Bakersfield Hash House Harriers, and we meet up every Monday at 6:30 somewhere different to run, walk and jog a trail that we don't know and have a couple beers along the way.

This week we'll be out on Steele near Mercado Latino to see what fun Diablower has cooked up as part of his May the Fourth & Cinco de Mayo run. If you want to dress up in Star Wars or Mexican attire, it will only be more fitting for this trail. All are welcome! Well, most are. Our bar is set pretty low, but even we have some minimum standards of behavior. Bring a spirit for adventure & fun and a sense of humor.

Below is the copypasta from our website. Hope to see you there!

________

The flour is laid, the trail is set, get ready for best damn trail you haven’t had yet. The theme is simple, do what ever you please. May the Froth – Chingo de Mayo run – let these holidays cumbine.

Meet near Edison Hwy, known well by the dustbowl migrants of ole. What was new became old, but the cumming gentrification will make it anew. Can trust the Front Running Bastards to find chalky trail, others hang with the chicas so fine.

¡Mírala las! with that fire in their eyes, reinas in sneakers, no disguise. Mexican, gringita, chinita or negrita, it makes no never mind, qué flare, qué pasión, they’ll wreck every @BakoHash House men who cums by.

Down-Down

Then comes the circle, the holy ground, Where the cerveza cold is always just there. No water for us (except Tranny and maybe 3), no jugo, no tea, Just Pacifico, Dos Equis and PBR for thee. ¡Salud!

So here’s to the bellezas and the hops in the can, The life of a thirsty, wandering man. ¡On-On! Down-down your beer, hurry up fast, the taco truck is closing we don’t want to be the last. !

I run with the Bakersfield Hash House Harriers, and we go in and out of neighborhoods and end up seeing things that most people don't ever see because they stick to the main roads. Here are some hidden gems and things I thought were interesting from our trail that went from Mt Vernon and Virginia up to Niles and back.

Pic 7 once belonged to George HW and Barbara Bush and W was about 3 when they lived there. I'm not getting political here, just a little Bako history.

The night ended at El Elotería for a little post-run grub. If you go there don't expect any meat, but the cur corn based food was a hit. I had the Papalote: mashed potatoes and corn with some spices, chopped peanuts, and sauce, and then whatever toppings you want to put on. If you go, bring cash because they don't take cards or tap.
