Why I think going into convulsions is related to the radio signal

My theory is that the reason the infected go into convulsions is because anger disrupts their ability to communicate.

They stay in constant communication via sending out radio signals on the frequency that Manousos discovered. That's their telepathic, or telempathic, connection with each other.

Emotions like anger or hate that trigger a "fight or flight" type of response somehow disrupt their brains' ability to send/receive the radio signal. The virus sends a panic response to the body when it registers that the radio signal is disrupted from any individual brain. Because all of infected are connected all of them get the same panic response and go into convulsions.

I think that if you were to put an infected person into a Faraday cage, the same convulsions would happen.

Disrupting their communication for a long enough time might be the key to freeing people from the hive-mind.

Where is the all-green graphical version of Oregon Trail? Did it really exist?

I have been searching for the green & black version of Oregon Trail that has screens that look the included picture with the quotes like "You have died of dysentery!"

So far, I have not been able to find it.

I remember playing Oregon Trail on the computers in the computer lab at my school in the 80s. I remember the computers being Commodore Pets. I remember it had green graphics and text like that. I remember it having end-game screens that look exactly like the picture of a covered wagon along with text of whatever caused you to lose ("dysentery" being the most famous). I also remember similar games with the green graphics, such as one that was called something like "Weather Wars" where you try to destroy your opponent's house with weather.

But, I may be suffering from a Mandela Effect.

I have scoured the Internet and been to sites myabandonware and so on, but cannot find any version that *actually* looks like this.

Using emulators, I have played the DOS, Commodore 64, and Apple II versions. None of them look like this or even have this screen. In fact, the Commodore 64 was all-text. It looks like the older versions were also all-text.

From what I can determine, it never came out for the Commodore Pet (ok, maybe I misremembered that and it was some other brand of computer).

So what version is that picture? It has been suggested to me that maybe it was the mainframe version and I was just playing through a terminal. OK. So, where is that version? I haven't been able to find it.

Does anybody know? Was this version even a real thing? I am beginning to suspect it never existed in this exact form and pictures like this were just a retro creation.

How do I get rid of old chemicals?

I found a lot of chemical bottles in a garage I inherited from a relative. They look like a variety of car care, lawn care, pesticides, cleaning products, etc. Some of them are 20+ years old or older.

How do I safely and easily get rid of them?

Is it legal to print and bind a PDF for an out-of-book from Paizo?

I mean out-of-print book.

I legally bought a PDF for a PF 1e book but I want a physical copy. The physical version is out of print (I checked Pathfinder Infinite and DriveThruRPG). Is there a place I can have it printed and bound into an actual book without violating a copyright, provided I don't ever share my purchased PDF with anyone?

Are these house rules for starting equipment reasonable?

I was unhappy with the Core Rulebook starting funds for characters. It seemed that rolling for funds seemed unfair.

I created these house rules to hopefully be more reasonable and fair. Martial classes can start with good non-magical armor and other classes can get some nice starting items.

What do you think? Any suggestions?

Starting Equipment

  • Ignore the starting funds for classes.  All characters get the following:
    • The “kit” for their class (such as “wizard’s kit” or “swashbuckler’s kit”).  These typically include a backpack, torches, rations, a bedroll, and some items for a specific class.
    • Any set of clothing worth 50 gp or less.
    • Select four options, in any combination, from the list below.  All starting items will be normal quality and made from standard materials.  You (or your creature if choosing barding) must be proficient in any weapon, armor, or shield.  You must have the spell on your class spell list if selecting a scroll.  These items can never be sold, but can be given away to PCs or NPCs in-game.  Range weapons come with a standard amount of ammunition (usually 20).
      • armor
      • barding, saddle, tackle, and 5 days of feed
      • melee weapon
      • range weapon
      • shield
      • 1st level scroll (or two 0th-level scrolls)
      • 1st level potion (or two 0th-level potions)
      • Single-use alchemical item
      • A set of tools or a kit such as healer’s kit, disguise kit, artisan’s tools, or thieves tools that cost 50 gp or less.
      • 25 gp in coins or other items
    • If starting at a higher level, get these items and then apply the standard Wealth By Level to buy additional items.

Pathfinder cookbook?

I know D&D has the official "Heroes Feast" and "Flavors of the Multiverse".

Is there an official, or unofficial, Pathfinder cookbook?

Besides that,

Do you have any Pathfinder-inspired recipes you would like to share?
