First ever sewing project/s

Today I made my first ever sewing projects, trousers for my toddler. I was forced into doing French seams as my Singer 185k only does straight stitch (on a 1cm seam allowance as I only realised after I cut them out). Feeling pretty proud of myself.

Found in the attic

So, I have never used a sewing machine, but I would like to start. I found this machine in my attic, it appears to have been made in the 1950s/60s (It actually works). What should I do / maintenance do I need to do to get started?

Holiday and Milk

So we have gone on holiday for the UK to America and our soy milk options were drastically reduced. We tried Ripple, Silk and the childrens Ripple and she thought they were all disgusting 🫣. I brought a few of her normal milk to offer if it failed finding an option here and now she has lost all milk trust and considers her normal milk disgusting. So she will now drink none... Is this a major problem nutritionally? She is 22 months. Thanks in advance ☺️
