Worried about my old NK

I babysit for my old nanny family frequently, every week sometimes multiple times a week. I was their nanny for 2.5 years before NK(now 5 years old) started preschool. This is NKs first summer where he doesn’t have full time care. MB recently quit her job and is a stay at home mom, but NK has spent a lot of time in summer camps this summer.

MB has come to me many times since I stopped being their FT nanny for advice, NK seems to have pretty poor behavior with her/DB. He is very well behaved when he is with me and never exhibits a lot of the behaviors she mentions. I try so hard to help out with advice bc I love NK so much, but I’ve always had issues with how present his parents are. I was excited to hear that MB was quitting because I thought that would mean she’d be more present.

Anyways, today I babysit NK and before MB and DB leave, MB mentions that NK left the house while she was napping and got all the way down the street and to a very big, unsafe intersection before teachers from his school saw him and walked him back home.

I am absolutely sick hearing this. I’ve almost broken down crying multiple times thinking about it while caring for NK tonight. What am I supposed to do with this information?? They said they tried talking to him but he doesn’t care, and my thing is he shouldn’t have been given the chance to do that in the first place!!! he is 5 years old, he needs supervision at all times, even as he gets more independent.

He could’ve gotten hit by a car or lost or abducted. I am just devastated. I will take ANY ADVICE??

Frustrated with myself

I have this issue where I feel like the best way I can relate to parents is by talking about the other families I work for and it’s made me feel terribly guilty and i think it’s made people think i’m judgemental. I think my brain thinks it’s going to “prove” that i have experience or whatever but i think it’s made me unlikeable as a person. I feel awful and I hate it and I have been aware of this for like 9 months and i’m still struggling to stop. i’m not sure what i’m asking for here but im really struggling. i want to be able to support my families and make them feel heard but i don’t want to do that by making examples out of other families because I also love /those families/ so much!! i love my job and i don’t want to be a or seen as a judgemental person. ugh

Book accurate characters

hi hi i’m newer to this fandom i only saw the show and really actually watched it a month or so ago, now ive read a couple of the books and i really am so curious what people thought shane and ilya were going to look like before the show came out. the descriptions are very different in the book but obviously hudson and conner killlllllled it. i would hust love to see fan art from before the show/the initial casting was announced.

Possible extended travel with NF Advice

Hi everyone!

So I may be travelling to NY with my nanny family from the end of August to the beginning of November, and I would love to know if I should draft up a contract for the time that we are out there. Our dynamic will look pretty different as I would be living in the same home as them and such. I’ve never done a live in position before!

Are there any things that I should be keeping on my radar that might be easy for me to forget about in this situation?

Also I’ve only been in NY for a week with my old NF so any tips or insider knowledge would be much appreciated!!

I think my NPs think I’m judgemental 😔

Today DB made a light comment in passing about how MB might not want him to show me something NK did because they don’t want to be judged and I’ve been overthinking it ever since. I’m worried they think I’m constantly judging them and I think it’s because of comments I’ve made about previous nanny families that I meant to be affirming to them but might have come off as judgemental toward the other nanny families. Do you think there’s anyway I can reverse this over time or are they just going to always feel judged by me and I will just be more mindful in the future?? I never want a family to feel like I’m judging them because I’m not, but maybe I am more judgemental than I thought😔
