Customer service providing strange reason for cancelling online order

2 days ago I purchased a TV stand from Walmart online. I’ve had a Walmart account for years but have never purchased online before. Well today, I get the notification it’s cancelled due to “pricing error”, and now it’s not available on the website.

I call customer service and after getting through the AI bot, the service agent tells me it was cancelled because it was my very first online order, and they cancel those for security reasons. So I asked, every single person with a Walmart account gets their first order cancelled and has to deal with customer service then? And he affirmed that was correct. He also said the seller did not have it in stock (even though it probably sold out after I bought it)

I mean, on what planet does that make sense? All it does is make me not want to order from Walmart again.

Small shoutout to that guy though I guess for providing a $25 off coupon.

Can anyone verify if this is true? Or just a made up reason they gave me

Credit Line Increase - does it get better with time?

I have had my Savor One card with capital one for about 8-9 months now - they gave me $3k upon opening. I’m 22 with good credit, so I figured that was decent enough.

I recently booked a lot of travel on my CapOne card and my credit took a hit because my usage increased. I know this is temporary but because of this I wanted an increase. They approved me on the spot for a $500 increase….a decent amount less than I was expecting to be honest.

My score hovers around 740 but this is only my second line of credit, and my first with capital one.

Do they give you larger increases once you build a longer relationship?

Parking fee confusion

UPDATE: I emailed for clarification like a good tenant

I am just about to move in to my new apartment and in the fees they told me before, there was a required $50 fee for parking. No assigned spaces, just a free for all lot with a gate. Then in my lease, there are multiple pages outlining monthly fees, only one of which mentioned a parking fee - in the fees page where it broke down my personal base rent etc. There was no parking fee to be found.

So then, they sent me a welcome home letter via email, outlining the fees and how much I was due at move in, plus a deposit; to which I did the math myself, and replied back that this seemed incorrect and that the total sounds like it should include the deposit not be separate. They then emailed me back stating that I was right and it actually is a smaller payment because they forgot one of the base rent discounts. With this email, they sent along a complete breakdown of my monthly payments including the first month; no parking fee.

$50 a month is a lot for me and so saving that money would be really helpful, but I obviously don’t want to get in trouble or towed. My leasing office doesn’t seem to have it all together to be honest, so I think on move in day I’ll ask if I need a fob, sticker, or badge for my car, and if they forget to charge me, that’s on them?

Has anyone had this situation before? What did you do? Should I just point it out?

TLDR; leasing office a bit all over the place, parking fee mentioned once in lease but not in price breakdown they sent me for TMLR

Transfer Companion Account?

Hi all!

When I was a bit younger my dad added me as a companion card to his Amex Gold account. This was my first line of credit and initially, it just ran through his autopay. (Messy divorce, I was very grateful for this card).

A few years later after settling into my own full time job, I started taking on the payments for the card, except there was no way for me to add autopay since it is a companion card, and if I want to make payments I have to do it manually per transaction. Very soon after, my dad upgraded his gold account to platinum, which in turn upgraded my companion card.

Anyways, I obviously want to keep this account open as it is my oldest line of credit, but I have no idea if it’s possible to transfer the companion card account into a regular account, passing on the full ownership to me, while still keeping my line of credit.

TLDR; can I switch my companion platinum to my own platinum, without closing the card?
