How did I do?/service recs

Hi folks! Recently I aquired a 1977 USDM Seiko 6139-6005 "Cevert" on marketplace for 450 bucks from a really cool dude. It came with the original bracelet, vintage 3rd party bracelet, and an Uncle Seiko bracelet (yay because I would have bought one right after buying my the watch). It is seemingly all original, all of the details line up based on the serial number. The start/stop pusher sticks for a bit, but eventually rebounds. It is keeping absolutely killer time! I set it last monday when I bought it, and it is still on the right minute (not really tracking the seconds lol). I did a Timegrapher and it is keeping very good time with unknown service history. Does anyone have recent positive experiences with repair shops regarding vintage seiko in the USA? I know this question is asked a lot, but I'm having trouble finding one that I'd trust with my watches. There are two "well known" shops near me, but a couple of very valid/ not-karen reviews have steered me away. Also one of them quoted me 350 bucks to align a Speedmaster bezel which rubbed me the wrong way. I just want to hear some first hand recentish experiences! Thanks again!

(Sorry handwatch lol)

Am I weird?

Soon after I got into fountain pens I got what many consider to be "nice" paper to write on. It seemed most people liked Rhodia so I grabbed them in Blic. I for one don't really like it. Seems like it is allergic to my ink and the ink just sits for a while before drying. It's often scratchy and will skip occasionally (probably from my greasy ass hands). The shock comes when I say I much prefer the paper in my 75 cent Walmart composition notebook. It is definitely thin and stuff can be seen from the other side, but for the most part i only write on one side to make it easy to scroll thru for work. Either way it is so much more pleasant to write on. Am I weird for prefering the unknown paper from Walmart over an established stationary company?
I test all of my pens on both and my opinion is consist with all of them except my L2K. My Lamy 2000 feels perfectly fine on the Rhodia, so I mostly use that at work.

NPD hobby crossover!

Hi everyone, I made a post a week or two ago about my beginning in this hobby. Since then I've gone on a pen spree. I've bought a couple classics including the kakuno, metropolitan, prera, and now the Lamy 2000. I was considering the vanishing point as well, but my first pen was a Lamy and I enjoyed it, so I decided on the 2000. (I will eventually get a VP anyways lol) I had a feeling it had some history due to it's simple design, and price point. I was not disappointed! The Lamy 2000 was released in1966 by legendary Bauhaus designer and ex-Braun employee Gerd A. Müller. Relatively unchanged design-wise, it reminded me of my other hobby watches. The Omega Speedmaster as we know it today, has been relatively unchanged visually since 1965. Both follow the Bauhaus philosophy of "form follows function". Conviently they complement each other in design, and ease of functionality!

[SKX779] Need help finding models from 2002!

Hi yall I'm on the hunt for a birth month and year seiko. I've done a ton of research and exhausted all of my known options for the hunt. I tried finding a pdf of a catalog from the year (2002) but all I could find was someone's article with photos of it, but not full pages or scans. It was helpful with some models, but I know there are more. So far I've set alerts/searches on ebay for a couple models and just sort by new and check serials. It was a weird year design-wise for seiko so there are a ton of weird models. I was wondering if yall had any ideas or leads for interesting 2002 seikos! I am already following the first gen monsters and some other SKX.

New Pen Enthusiast!

**Apologies for my elementary school handwriting**

Hi everyone, I recently joined the subreddit last week and lurked to see what the vibe was like! I'm definitely in the minority of pen people. I only got into fountain pens after I bought my sister 2 Lamy pens for christmas and decided to throw one in for myself. I don't journal or write letters (I might eventually but not currently) and I'm not super art oriented other than photography. I got one out of sheer curiosity and ended up using it occasionally at work to take notes! Around two weeks ago I was in my local Blic store getting b-day presents for my sister and saw they had a decent shelf of pens and ink. On a second whim I got the prefounte and absolutely fell in love with it. Don't get me wrong, the safari is super smooth and satisfying to write with, but the cost to preformance ratio of the Prefounte is impressive. I used both of them at work to alternate between blue and black for differentiation between topics. With how much I enjoyed writing with the Prefounte I went back to blic and got the Plaisir. It also writes nicely, but I found out I'm not a huge fan of Extra fine/thin nibs. Yesterday I happened to pass Blic again on my way home from work and picked up the Tuzu and some ink! I made sure to get the broadest nib possible and it's a close race between it, the safari, and the Prefounte. I don't think I'm going to be buying another pen for a while, but what would yall reccomend for my next? All of mine are relatively cheap compared to some of yalls collections! I'm looking to be around the 100-150 range! Also if you couldn't tell I like blue lol. Thanks for reading all of this and thank you for all of the interesting posts! I'm learning so much here!

My favorite part of thrift stores is that you can find literally anything, and everything has a story behind it. These "Hush" Paddles are a piece of Georgia golf history. Other than the Masters, The Atlanta Classic(many name changes during it's run) was a stop on the PGA Tour from 1967-2008. It was hosted by Atlanta Country Club from 1967 to 1996, then by TPC Sugarloaf from 1997-2008. These three paddles are from when it was hosted at ACC. They appear to be handpainted (with a stencil lol) and feature that all but familiar southern charm! These are especially significant to me, but if I specified why I would likely dox myself lmao.
