Girl, like, what did you think was going to happen?

If Twilight hadn't stepped in, you would've been knocked out. That’s a really huge mistake for ponies who are thousands of years old, where the hack are your reflexes?

Hey, look, Shining Armor's security measures were useless in the end

Possible hot take alert:

I have a lot of criticisms regarding how the show forces certain things to happen for the sake of the plot. I’m not just talking about how they nerfed the Princesses and the Pillars to give spotlight to the mane 6—though I do feel the Princesses never got a fair fight against the villains because of that. To get straight to the point: I hate how the villains succeeded at times simply because the plot demands it, especially in Season 9

  1. Shining Armor’s security measures ended up being totally useless, even though they had previously proven quite effective. For some reason, when Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow invaded Canterlot twice in a row, those measures failed. The anti-magic spell installed by Starswirl simply ceased to exist—along with the increased guards presence and securiy, the super-fans meant to stop invaders, the trapdoor, the geeses; none of it seemed to work when the Legion of Doom was on screen.

  2. You’d expect the Pillars and the Princesses, with all their power, to at least keep the fight balanced, but they get quickly sidelined because the writers knew they actually stood a chance of winning.

  3. You’d expect the ponies to watch the news, but those two idiots not only failed to recognize Cozy Glow, but one of them (the guard) also didn't alert the Princesses—neither when Tirek stole their magic nor when he gave it back

  4. Oh yeah, and the ponies (unicorns) buying this stupid idea that they're superior and capable of doing more than just a fireworks show—like, ?????????? Sure, you can do better things if you want, but nobody ever said you were inferior for doing that

Toadette's role in the Mushroom Kingdom

Drawing by @sarahrsketches

I like to think that Princess Peach leaves Toadette in charge of certain things in the kingdom when she is absent, or even has her serve as a lady-in-waiting. For instance, the fact that she’s the castle’s construction foreman in Mario Maker 2 suggests that Toadette is a jack-of-all-trades. That might explain why she turns into Peachette—it’s as if she gets the chance to be a co-ruler.

Unpopular opinion: I really can't stand Mr. Damocles

A few reasons why I find Mr. Damocles insufferable and a terrible principal:

He constantly lets himself be intimidated and manipulated by Chloé and Mayor Bourgeois. Any threat of "I'm callingdaddy" makes him back down and make unfair decisions. This happens repeatedly, especially regarding suspensions and selective punishments (like in "Despair Bear").

He doesn't fight against bullying. He practically ignores Chloé's constant bullying of Marinette, Alya, and other students. Instead of protecting the victims, he often punishes those who complain or expose the problem (I'll never forget how he used to unfairly punish Marinette for things Chloé did to her)

He suspends innocent students or does so for absurd reasons (e.g., unfairly suspending Alya in "Lady Wifi"). (He threatens to punish Max in "Robustus" even though Markov helped solve the problem)

He forgets about students (like Juleka in "Reflekta") and ignores real problems to avoid wasting time or money.

He is easily intimidated by important figures, such as Mayor Bourgeois and Ray's father

The whole "The Owl" situation shows just how immature and irresponsible he is. Instead of focusing on his job as principal, he goes out and risks his life in a pathetic way. I don't feel bad that Chloé called him ridiculous or that he became a laughingstock on social media. He only reacts under pressure. He lacks the initiative to improve the school, protect the students, or create a fair environment

I hate how everyone (and the writers) makes excuses for him and forgives his actions, even though he's a useless incompetent who doesn't know how to help his students. Please fire him

Is there any reason why Marinette never used her status as Ladybug to fully expose Lila?

Like, why didn't she ever reveal the truth about Lila as Ladybug to everyone the moment Lila's lies started causing harm and resulting in akumatizations? I mean, Marinette should have done that right after all that mess in Ladybug episode in season three that got her expelled and almost akumatized? Like, Lila was going to cause a tragedy and yet she didn't think it would be good to expose her for the horrible things she was doing?

I love Gabriel Agreste as a villain and character but absolutely hate him as a person

I'm tired of hiding my hatred for Gabriel Agreste, I simply hate that guy with all my might. He had a certain charisma as Hawk Moth, Shadow Moth, or Monarch, but as Gabriel he's simply a horrible man. The parental abuse, the maniacal control he exerts over Adrien is simply terrible, he was a narcissist who saw Adrien as a monster who killed Emilie. That whole story of wanting to bring her back because of him was just a way to mask his own selfish desires, so much so that he preferred to die and be with her than try to live for Adrien. Cat Blanc only shows how little he cared about his own son and used him as a pawn to achieve his goals, in addition to the physical violence he committed when he found out Adrien was Cat Noir.

I simply hate how arrogant, egocentric, and narcissistic he, Tomoe, and the members of the kingdom are towards the world, and how they believe they have the right to create a perfect world based on their ideals of perfection. They see their children as extensions of themselves and are forced to do everything they command.

I love how the show makes it clear that their actions are reprehensible and how horrible he, Tomoe, and the kingdom are as people, and how they are a critique of white-collar mobsters and how elites think they know what's best for everyone and want to dictate how others should act.

The problem comes from the fact that he hasn't fully faced the consequences of his actions. Sometimes I wish he had survived and rotted in jail for everything he did, and as a bonus, Adrien saying how much he hates him and that he never wants to be near him again. Another option would be that he managed to resurrect Emilie and that she condemned him for all the horrible things he did to Adrien and the misuse of the Miraculous, because she always made it clear that she didn't approve of Gabriel using the Butterfly Miraculous to harm others in exchange for getting his ultimate wish.

I hope that when Adrien discovers the truth he doesn't feel guilty for having cataclysmed his father, but rather that it was a consequence his father paid for his madness

Okay, I have a lot of questions about this

To this day I can't believe any way the Changelings managed to capture Twilight and the others and replace them without attracting everyone's attention in Ponyville, and even less can I imagine how they also managed to capture Celestia, Luna, Candace, and Shining Armor, two of whom are super powerful alicorns. I know the show nerfed Celestia to the extreme, but I can't imagine how she would lose to an army of Changelings if she were fighting alongside Luna. I mean, I know the Changelings could have been disguised, but the moment they realized that, I believe the ponies in Ponyville would have noticed the confusion, since the Mane 6 wouldn't give up without a fight. And the same goes for Celestia and Luna. Where were the guards? They surely would have heard the battle happening and would have helped or called for help. And nobody can say that Chrysalis was responsible for capturing them all because she herself confirmed that she sent her minions to do it, meaning it doesn't make sense that the Changelings even managed to capture them all, much less do it without anyone noticing. Like, how could Celestia and Luna together not have finished them off? The capture of all of them seems forced, and it only happened because the plot demanded it

Is there any reason why Toadette doesn't have an amiibo?

It's been 10/11 years since most Mario characters got an amiibo, but Toadette doesn't. And like, it doesn't make any sense, she's the only character from Mario Party Star Rush who doesn't have an amiibo. I understand that after that Nintendo stopped using the amiibo benefits in the games, but now that they've started using them again, it was to be expected that they would finally create a Toadette amiibo, right? Like, if Captain Toad got his recently, why not Toadette? Even new characters that aren't that relevant in the games, like Prince Florian and the Poplins, got an amiibo before her.

(Honorable mentions: Bowser Jr, Pauline, and Birdo, who still don't have an amiibo either)

My problem with Lila/Cerise/Chrysalis

Many people say that Marinette/Ladybug has a lot of plot armor and always manages to win in the end because the script needs her to win. While that's true, Lila manages to be worse in this sense because it seems like the writers use her as a plot device, in addition to the fact that she really is a Mary Sue.

Like, Lila always gets everything she wants and needs. She has 3 different identities, with 3 different mothers, knows sign language, can lie and manipulate everyone easily to the point that adults believe what she says. Furthermore, she has a secret lair in the catacombs where she keeps various notes and information about the Miraculous holders, technological objects that help in her plans, wigs and disguises, and she managed to steal the notebook and reconfigure it to invade the Agreste mansion and steal the butterfly Miraculous right under ladybug's nose.

The problem is that she manages to do all this with extreme ease, without showing us her journey to achieving all of this. The fact that Tomoe helped her improves her situation because it shows that she couldn't have accomplished all of this alone, but it's still frustrating that we know nothing about her and how she manages all of this.

LIKE, BRO, we don't even know how she managed to evolve her powers or how she stole the butterfly miraculous back in the Agreste Mansion. We need answers dude, otherwise, Lila gets everything she wants because the plot demands it
