Help me like get into this.

Hello, I'm a long term RPG lover. I've played through every Baldurs Gate multiple times, both the Pathfinder games and Pillars of Eternity. For whatever reason I cannot play Divinity 2 (haven't played the first one either) everytime I start it I get so overwhelmed. It feels directionless and I feel like unless I follow some minimaxxed mega build I will be in for a hard time. Is there any advice you lovely chaps can give to get me on track because I want to play it but I keep hitting this wall. And I'm worried now that the 3rd one has been announced that I will be missing crucial context and more importantly that I might hit this wall again.

Is there a particularly fun way to play? or should I follow a certain path?

Any help would be appreciated

Opening after a year of closing.

Today was my first open in just over a year. For some clarity and open shift is 5am to 2pm and the close is 2pm to 10pm. I am by no means a morning person. It's why I preferred closes and until very recently I loved 2 hours away from my store so getting there for 5am meant waking up around 2:30am (unpleasant and expensive as I needed to get taxis in due to shitty rural public transport) but now I live about 15 minutes walk from the store and my god, today was the calmest and most relaxing day at my job in year. I have hours of my day left, the sun is shining, I'll actually get to see my girlfriend after she finishes work.

I by no means like this job and am actively looking for something closer to my friends and girlfriends hours but for now this may be the reprieve I need to make my search bearable. A nice little change of scenery.

I can't do this anymore

I don't know if it's just my store or every store but we now have to keep the bakery stocked completely until 8 at night. Originally they said it was because of an auditor coming in but they've come and gone and I'm still having to do this. I wouldn't mind it if the excess was actually bought but I'm being forced to bake fresh stuff at 6 or 7 that's still warm when I throw it into the bin (we write it off as a charity donation but they never show up) I can't do it anymore. It's soul destroying, perfectly edible food just binned so the store looks fuller it's ridiculous.
