Unexpected funny moment

lone wolf, act 2, me and my homie are checking out the mine area. both respec to hydro/warfare/necro, getting used to the playstyle. just doing my daily purging of magisters.

i come by a house, a family is tied up about to be executed, save them, no big deal. keep strolling, magisters are burning down a house. i’m like hell yeah, im about to heal you to death. fights starts, take a couple down, everything is on cd, one of my gals is about to croak. no big deal, i tactical retreat, heal up, then head back in.

well my retreat aggrod the family that i saved. they all rush down to the fight, my girl lohse is holding on for dear life. 2 magisters left, both stripped of armor. you know what that means, knockdown my boys. decay/heals on cd. know what happens? those civilians jump in and start kicking the shit out of the magisters 🤣 like 5 huddled around just kicking him in the guts.

made me chuckle, hope some of you can recreate. revenge is a bish.

Doubling essence damage on weapons

I found a trick for increasing damage from essences. When I enchant an essence with weapon, the weapon gets 15% of its damage as essence damage. But tenebrium boosts a weapon with 30% weapon damage as tenebrium, so double value.

However, If you first enchant with tenebrium, then an essence, you get 30% weapon damage as essence damage. I'll share a clip of me doing it. I believe the essence damage simply replaces tenebrium but keeps the value. However, if you make essence first, then tenebrium, the tenebrium correctly gets the higher value.

Blood Mage Sebille and Blood Summoner Fane Build help.

In my previous playthrough i realized i was running a Physical and Magical setup which was not optimal. So my friend suggested to run a blood mage sebille and Blood summoner fane build. I am currently at Level 4 and my incarnate is dying pretty much instantly. He said to pump warfare for everyone and for fane i am supposed to reach summoning level 10.

I am pretty confused now as both sebille and fane look weak. I got appropiate necromancy skills for sebille but yet she still dies. She even has nice amount of armour.

IDK what to do pls help me out.

how could i make my party stronger?

main

red prince

lohse

fane

im in act2 and some fights feel a bit too difficult so i was wondering how could i improve my party, other than the stuff in the screens, main guy is a skeleton fighter with maxed warfare(not sure what to get next) fane is fighter aswell but i gave him a shield and a few points in polymorph, red prince is pyro and geo so he can sometimes heal skellies while lohse is a air hydro so she can heal the living, for the equipment main guy has braccus set but i guess its getting outdated, red prince has captain set which is nice because of the charm thing, fane and lohse got some generic decent stuff, talents are:

main skelly

red prince

lohse

fane

not sure what else to say, skills are in the pictures, so how can i improve my party?

How's the game on multiplayer?

I love dos2 and I was finally able to convince someone to play with me but sadly I didn't think I would succeed so I didn't think that far ahead, so how is the online? My fear is that one player makes all the decisions while the others are basically NPCs who just fight so hopefully not that

Nope he won't

Scene is from the 2nd Garfield movie (2006).

A douche lord gets bullied by animals in a castle (with many paintings and antiquities all over). Sounds quite Larianish ngl.

Playing through DOS2 on Explorer. Any advice for how to make my current builds better?

So I'm actually playing through DOS2 for the first time after many false starts, and I've been enjoying the hell out of the systems so far in Act 1. But as always, I love figuring out how all the mechanics come together to create some awesome characters. And I'm open to any advice on how to make my current party better with the build ideas I got in mind.

My player character is a dwarf that I'm using as sort of a geo-gish (Warfare & Geomancy) build, with a shield in one hand and powerful axe in the other (though I'd be down to find an awesome mace because I love maces) that supplements his melee prowess with geomancer magic like Fortify and throwing big rocks.

Lohse is my second frontliner, going full Two-Handed Weapons like greatswords and Warfare. Though I have heard that mixing this combat style with Polymorph is apparently really good.

Fane is my archer using Huntsman skills, but I recently found a ring that gives him some summoning skill points and gave him a spell that lets him summon turrets out of elemental surfaces. So in longer fights, he's not only sniping enemies with his crossbow, but also conjuring the high-fantasy equivalent of auto-turrets, which I think is pretty cool.

And finally, I have Sebille as a sort of cleric, but I don't feel like I'm getting a lot of out the healing mechanics. Though I'll admit, that's probably due to me being a noob at this game. I did give her some pyromancy points and holy crap, these fire spells are fun as hell...if slightly dangerous to the rest of my party. But hey, who can say no to a spell that's basically the love child of Magic Missile and Scroching Ray?

(Suddenly I understand all those pyromaniac wizard D&D jokes.)

So yeah, that's my current party. Any advice for what I can do to expand upon the ideas I've been making for these four? I know I'm playing on the easiest difficulty, but I'd love to get as good with this game as I think I am at BG3.

Stuck in what might be a soft lock in honour mode

so im playing a honour mode playthough with some friends and ive gotten into a situation that i dont know how to progress

im playing as fane in act 3 (honour mode) and joined the covenant of the godking

didnt know about the accepting 3 ressurections from the godking and then being stuck as a zombie chicken

currently cant progress as fane cannot read the tomes to learn source vision and source vampirism and he cannot be kicked from the party

cannot use sworn breaker as zombie chicken form cant equip/move/or use any items or spells

to progress to the next point in the story by talking to the Eternal Arbiter we only get the message "all godwoken must complete their studies" and as stated theres no way of getting fane to learn

i tried some mods like status fixer and the one mod that removes zombie chicken status with a book by the waypoint on the lady vengence but the host wasnt able to find it

does anyone know of anything we can do to get out of this soft lock? we're genuinely stumped on what to do

I finished replaying Divinity Original Sin 2 recently and today, alone on a Sunday, what I'm feeling is hard to describe

It's a feeling of what could've been. Hard to put into words.

I've been watching a lot of the old videos Larian has put out since I finished the game about 3 days ago.

I watched such a small team back then, appearing so rag-tag, buying cables at the last minute at a Best Buy in order to make an E3 appearance, or laughing and working out of someone's messy house/ apartment, with equipment strewn everywhere.

I rewatched some of the old Kickstarter videos for DOS 1. I remember those days, so many years ago.

This was a team that was on the verge of bankruptcy.

And this same team changed the gaming industry with their successes. Such amazingly talented, dedicated people who had such wonderful stories to tell, and they told it, together as a team.

Yeah I don't have any of that. Maybe life could've turned out differently.

Now I'm just working towards a job where I'll tolerate at the end of the day and pays well. None of the people I will work with in the future will likely have a passion for games that Larian puts out. No one will give a shit about adventures and storytelling. There is no working towards a project where everyone can be proud of what they have accomplished, telling a wonderful story that will bring enjoyment to so many. Everyone will likely just be wrapping up the day, collecting that pay check, and going home.

I had a very similar feeling as as I finished playing Expedition 33.

It feels sad. I wonder if anyone here has that same kind of feeling.

The Story Is Really Bad and Act 3 Is Undercooked

Nearly at the end of DOS1 for the first time. Played DOS2 several times through in the past and BG3 too. The gameplay, mechanics, and balancing are all solid for DOS1 but the story is terrible and act 3 is seriously underdeveloped. You can tell how they ran out of time and resources. The funny thing is that Larian consistently struggles with this across all of their games, they suck at the last 1/3 or 1/4 of their games, they don’t know how to bring it to a satisfying conclusion.
