Dismissing Anti-AI as just “clueless kids/teens who never worked at a job” misses the point and are just plain dismissal of real fears young people have.

I personally think this common dismissal is disingenuous from a bunch of older folks on the Pro-AI side. Most of you who say that uses it to dismiss and demean, never thinking about why is it that kids today have an anti-technology stance unlike when they were young and imagining Star Trek utopias. There is an ever growing malaise towards the future amongst the younger generations that’s causing all this.

The anti-AI sentiment being more common amongst teens and young adults is a result of the difficult economy that they are growing up into since pandemic. Gen Z is a generation that doesn’t believe in the future anymore, with a recent yearning to return to 2016 in a “meme reset” to relive the old times of when we were still kids(granted this is not really Gen Z specific).

There’s a common response among young people towards bad news basically boils down to “why does this have to happen right as I become an adult?” in the past couple years as we feel like our future is being ruined and robbed from us by higher forces to line their own pockets. AI is viewed negatively as a consequence because it is seen as part of the same consecutive waves of bad hands being dealt to us.

The way the investment and hype bubble around it is playing out has resulted in shitty side effects like RAM prices going up, circular financing between AI companies, old books being cut and digitized en mass for training data, the American and by extension world economy being held away from official recession by the investment bubble, and mass deployment of Flock cameras just to name a few.

Most importantly of all AI is touted from the beginning to investors as a magical means to replacing thousands of jobs and cut costs, which only further enrages Gen Z(My generation) which are going through an unemployment crisis. It is something seen as yet another nail in the coffins containing our collective futures for good reasons.

We are not at all convinced by the “future” the AI companies are trying to sell and that you pro-AI all align with to varying degree with no matter if you use Corpo Proprietary or FOSS AI.

Who will win?

Zarkt also has access to Airjitzu, Rising Dragon, Spinjitzu Burst, and could summon unlimited number of minions with the Helmet of Shadows and the Weapon of Desolation.

The problem with the new “Avatarian” language.

I know I’m not the only person to not like the language change for the Avatar Universe around here, but I’m of Chinese background and I could pinpoint a wider issue that may not be obvious to non-Chinese speakers.

Outside of the wide usage of written Chinese in the first two shows, the change to a fictional writing system that’s just English written to look vaguel Korean Hangul is that English just fundamentally cannot be used the same way as Chinese and other East Asian languages could.

I used this post as reference to get a grasp of how the new language works and used it to alter one of the most upfront uses of Chinese Characters in the series outside of the original logo or the background of the intros; The symbol of the Equalists.

The original symbol is using the character ”平” which means “flat“ or as the first character in equal/equality “平等”

This only works so well because a single Chinese character alone could convey complex meanings in a way that Latin languages like English cannot.

Using the post I referenced, I replaced the “平” with my attempt at recreating the letter “E” from the Avatarian Alphabet(which resembles the Chinese character “干” funnily enough, which means Dry). The equalist symbol immediately loses its message and meaning and sort of becomes a joke. Like imagine the symbol of your revolutionary ideology being just “E”. Imagine that “E” plastered all over the Equalist propaganda in LOK where the original symbol used to be.

Now this is only one hypothetical way they would show the Equalist symbol in post Aang movie media, they could just replace the “平” with the full word “Equality“ written in Avatarian which I unfortunately don’t have a grasp of the writing construction to make currently. But this runs into the problem earlier where English does not lend itself well in conveying a meaning or message simply and bluntly with just one character and whatever pseud-Hangul jumbo replacement straying too far from the look of the original symbol.

However the specific choice to make the Avatarian “E” look like “干” is likely done to more easily replace the ”平” in the Equalist without losing the Chinese vibe in the event they want to revisit the Equalists. But it seems Bryke or whoever designed the language does not grasp the significance of the original symbol, and they will very likely use the “E” symbol in stories revisiting the Equalists like an Amon prequel novel or something.

The loss from the erasure of cultural inspiration for the overall Avatar universe cannot be understated.

Cushion LEDs working in 26.3 snapshot 4.

Actually open the snapshot before spamming rage slop guys. Xisumavoid had permanent night vision on in his video, which removes all shading this isn’t patched and won’t be until entities don’t go dark inside of blocks or if wall sign position changes.

The narrative that “Mojang hates fun and will remove anything fun” is a straw man and always has been and will be. It‘s source has always been bad faith, having spawned from the Chud Jeb “no fun allowed” meme made by some Larpers in response to his lukewarm comment on the creeper.

I call this one "The Angry Brain Leeches"

Was experimenting in the workshop and came up with this. It creates agitated Valance leech's in the targets brain from a targeted beam of light. Still needs a little work to be perfected.

People who complain about the spirit world in LOK being too colorful and whimsical always cherry picks only scenes of colorful place, but continently leave out the Fog of Lost Souls and the dark forest Korra fell into.

They have just shown more parts of the spirit world that was not seen before, it didn’t erase the ATLA style dark and drab spirit world, it just added more Locations that are more diverse and includes both dark and colorful locations.
