Is 3 YOE too soon to ask for opportunities aligned with my career goals?

I'm 3y into my career in consulting. For the past two years I've been working in an area that I really don't like. I don't mind doing it for a while because I understand it's part of my job... but it's been 2 years of the same. It would be more understanding if this was the only type of project my company gets, but it's not. My coworkers, who are at my same level, keep getting assigned those projects instead.

I've told management several times that I'm not fond of this area and I would like to explore other types of projects. Every time, they say they understand and keep promising me to switch me soon and then again they keep assigning me stuff in this area. I've been asking to switch for a year and spoke to different managers. When I ask why my coworkers get to do it, I'm told it's because they need that experience or because I'm too good at it.

I recently had a mid year check in with my direct manager where I brought up all the times where I've asked to be switched. They said they don't understand why I complain about it instead of just doing what I'm told.... But I do what I'm told, I've been doing what I'm told with a positive attitude for 2 years.

Is it really 3 years too early to advocate for what I'd like my career trajectory to be? Is it irrational to ask for more or other opportunities?

Driving Madrid to Cordoba, how is it?

I'm taking a trip to spain with some friends and we are going to visit Granada. We would like to rent a car to stop in Toledo, take a detour to Cordoba and then get through Granada within 2 days.

How is the drive to Granada from Madrid or Toledo? is it doable for visitors?

P.S. yes, we understand there is train and bus we would like to visit the places in our own schedules.

In need of a detangler and hydrating mask for a low porosity girly...

Please help! I've been struggling with matting lately. My hair is 3a, low porosity (these cuticles are shut tight), high density, and coarse.

I usuallt wash my hair once a week, my scalp can get too dry and sensitive to products otherwise, and thankfully my curls hold well. My wash day is Sundays and my week hold good until Thursday-ish. Friday and Saturday curls losen up. I don't really care and just wear a messy bun or pony tail. However, lately, within the past month, if I dare to spend a single day in my sofa with a messy bun or pony tail, my hair gets matted, badly... to the point where I have to spend at least 1h in the shower only detangling. It's exhausting! it wasn't like this before. My curls still look fine, nothing out of the ordinary... excep the matting! My only guess is that my hair is dry and because I have low porosity, almost nothing gets absorbed.

Here is my routine:

  1. I wash my hair sundays using Ouidad Clarifying Shampoo under cold water
  2. Under very hot water (with the hope that it opens my hair cuticles) I apply Ouidad Curl Quencher Moisterizer Conditioner and detangle while the product is in my head, this used to take 5min now is taking 1h to do because of how bad it gets. Then I remove the conditioner with hot water.
  3. After showering I dont squeeze my hair, I use a microfiber wrap that lightly damped, so that my hair doesnt dry in 3 seconds.
  4. I put 7 to 10 drops of No. 7 Olaplex bonding hair oil, about 7 to 10 drops.
  5. Apply Ouidad VitaCurl Defining mousse using praying hands
  6. Not Your Mothers Curls Fragrance Free Gel, again praying hands and then scrunch
  7. I Diffuse on my roots only, side by side, to create more volume maybe 2min each side. I am 3a but my roots then to stay flat if I dont diffuse.
  8. The resto of the days, when I shower I put on a satin lined shower cap to prevent humidity from ruin the curls
  9. At nights I use a silk bonnet.
  10. No refresh routine unless its humid outside, but usually outside is pretty dry. I take off my bonnet, put my hands into my roots and shake it a little bit so my roots don't stay flat and go about my day.

Some extra info:

  • I went to a curly hair salon about 9 months ago and the hair stylist there told me to: start using clarifying shampoo, damp microfiber towel hair wrap before using, stop using heavy creams and stick to mousse and gel instead because of my low porosity.
  • I used to use this Arvazalia Hydrating Argan Oil Mask and the Cake curl crush gel. But recently, about two months ago, I developed severe skin allergies and had to change a lot of my products and switch to fragrance free formula for my gel.

Career advice needed, feeling increasingly uncomfortable with the ethical reality

I graduated about 4 years ago and have been working in consulting in the water sector. Getting here wasn't easy. I started wanting to do this since I was 15. I spent 11 years investing in this dream while working and paying for everything on my own without family support and thankfully no loans, it took me longer but don't regret not owning a penny. I still find the work meaningful and I genuinely enjoy it, but lately I can't tell if I've fallen out of love with this profession or if I'm just burned out.

A few months ago things got strange at my office. A lot of changes happened and, through my connections, I ended up learning more about upper management and certain clients than I probably should have. I can't unlearn it now, and it's not sitting well with me. I'm playing along for now but something shifted.

What's weighing on me is everything surrounding the work itself. The corporate culture, the greed, the government policies, the double standards from clients, the lack of morals and professionalism from people I was supposed to look up to, plus all the misogyny.

I used to have deep respect for this profession and the people in it. Now I'm questioning everything. Maybe my standards are just too high?

It doesn't help that former classmates at other companies are or have gone through similar situations. So I have to ask: is this just everywhere? Is it the industry, the corporate structure, or just people in general? And the question that scares me the most do you inevitably become like this the higher up you go? Is this only within the corporate culture in the US or is it everywhere?

I want to clarify, I'm already in therapy so I'm not looking for that kind of support. I'm just looking for career perspective from people who've been here.

Do the monster have a washing machine in the tunnels?

The amount of bodies they have ripped apart, there's no way their clothes are not covered in blood at this point.

I know their clothing doesn't look exactly *clean* but there are not significantly large blood stains. They should be fully covered in blood... Unless, they have a washing machine!

Looking for urea cream/lotion? Preferably higher than 10% urea

I'm desperately looking for urea products that are fragrance free. I like urea because they help with KP on my legs and keep them moisturized for longer. I drink tons of water but my legs are just dry and scaly unless I use urea lotions.

I usually use the OUKEYA 40%. It feels wonderful on my skin but it has perfume and I can't use it without triggering an allergic cough that last for hours!

please don't recommend Eucerin. I know some of their products are fragrance free but I'm allergic to their products regardless of the presence of fragrance.
