Independent Cat Rescuer in Kentucky Asking for Help ❤️

https://gofund.me/e55750c75

Hi everyone! I’m located in Somerset, Kentucky, and I’m asking for help with donations so I can continue caring for the cats in my community. ❤️🐾
I’m an independent cat rescuer, and pretty much every spare dollar and spare minute I have goes toward helping cats. I currently feed and care for multiple colonies of community/stray cats, along with caring for my own cats and fosters in my home. I also regularly have people reach out to me who are feeding stray/community cats and need help with food, litter, TNR, vet care, or finding safe placement. I help whenever I possibly can.
A huge part of what I do is TNR \(trap\-neuter\-return\). I trap community cats, transport them to affordable spay/neuter programs, get them fixed and vaccinated, and then either return them to their colonies or try to find rescue/adoption placement when they are friendly.
Just in August alone, I have already had 15 cats spayed/neutered and vaccinated—8 cats on August 7 in Lexington and another 7 on August 14 in Bowling Green. I live in Somerset, so these trips are anywhere from about 1½ to almost 2 hours each way, and the gas alone adds up quickly.
On top of TNR, I currently have fosters in my home, feed colonies every single day, help other people in my community with cats when I can, and pay for veterinary care when a cat is sick or injured. I work full-time and pay for as much of this as I can out of my own pocket, but I simply cannot do it all alone.
**Right now, I’m asking anyone who is able to please donate to my GoFundMe. **Donations to the GoFundMe will help cover TNR appointments, veterinary bills, gas for transports, cat food, litter, medications, and the everyday expenses of caring for these cats.
Even $5 or $10 truly helps. When several people give a few dollars, it can mean another cat gets fixed, a sick cat gets seen by a vet, or I have enough gas to make the next TNR trip.
I completely understand that not everyone is able to donate. If you can’t, even sharing my GoFundMe could help it reach someone who can. ❤️
Thank you so much to everyone who continues to support what I do. Whether you’ve donated, shared my posts, prayed for these cats, fostered, adopted, or simply encouraged me, I appreciate it more than you know.
Somerset, Kentucky 🐾
Please consider donating to my GoFundMe if you’re able. Every donation, no matter how small, helps me keep these cats fed, fixed, safe, and cared for. ❤️

Thank you so very much

I just want to take a minute to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has donated food, litter, supplies, or helped me in any way. ❤️🐾
I’m going through the donations incredibly fast because there are just so many cats depending on me right now. I’m feeding multiple colonies and community cats, and I currently still have two foster cats in my care.
Just in the past week, I’ve had 15 cats fixed through TNR. On August 7, I drove from Somerset, Kentucky to Lexington—about an hour and a half each way—and had 8 cats fixed. Then today, August 14, I drove almost two hours each way from Somerset to Bowling Green and had 7 more cats fixed. That’s 15 cats who will no longer continue adding litter after litter of kittens to an already overwhelming situation. ❤️
On top of caring for the cats I’m already responsible for, I’ve also been able to help four different people who reached out needing cat food and litter for the stray and community cats they feed. Your donations didn’t just help me—they helped those cats and the people trying their best to care for them too.
I’ll probably be posting another wishlist in a couple of weeks because supplies disappear so quickly when you’re feeding this many mouths, but for right now, I really just wanted this post to be about gratitude.
You guys have been such an incredible blessing to me and to these cats. Every bag of food, every case of wet food, every container of litter, and every donation truly matters.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate every single one of you more than I can put into words.

The Need Has Never Been Greater

If you’ve ever considered helping my rescue by purchasing something from my Walmart wishlist, I’m asking you to please consider it today.
I live in Somerset, Kentucky, where I care for my own cat colonies, multiple fosters, and an overwhelming number of dumped kittens and cats. Right now, I am stretched further than I have ever been. Every single day I receive messages from people asking if I can help feed their pets or the strays they’ve found because they simply can’t afford to.
I say yes far more often than I should because I can’t stand the thought of animals going hungry.
But the truth is… I’m almost completely out of food. I’m down to my last couple of bags of dry food, and the amount of mouths I’m trying to feed is honestly terrifying.
The number of kittens needing help right now is unlike anything I’ve experienced. The adult cat population is just as heartbreaking. On top of that, I drive an hour and a half each way from Somerset to Lexington, Kentucky, twice a month for TNR appointments, and I make 3½-hour trips each way to Cincinnati, Ohio to get cats into rescues that will actually give them a chance. Last month alone, I paid out of pocket for veterinary care for six sick or injured cats.
I’m spending around 60% of my income trying to keep this rescue going because these animals don’t have anyone else. I desperately need help right now. The need has become greater than I can keep up with on my own, and every bag of food helps ensure these cats don’t go hungry.
If you’re able to send even one bag of food from my Walmart wishlist, it truly makes a difference. Every donation, no matter the size, helps keep bowls full for cats that depend on us.
To everyone who has stood beside me, donated, shared my posts, or encouraged me along the way… thank you. I truly couldn’t have come this far without you, and I’m hoping we can get through this difficult time together. ❤️

Thank you so much!

A Huge Thank You ❤️🐾
I honestly don’t have the words to express how grateful I am to everyone who purchased items from my Walmart wishlist. Every time a package arrives, it reminds me that there are so many kindhearted people who truly care about these cats and kittens just as much as I do.
Every can of kitten food, every bag of litter, flea treatment, cleaning supplies, and every other item you sent will go directly toward helping the cats and kittens I rescue, foster, and care for. Your generosity allows me to focus less on how I’m going to afford supplies and more on what matters most—saving lives, getting these babies healthy, and giving them the chance to find loving forever homes.
There are days when this work feels overwhelming. The heartbreak, the long drives, the vet bills, and the constant worry can be a lot. But because of all of you, I never feel completely alone. Your kindness gives me the strength to keep going, even on the hardest days.
Please know that your generosity isn’t just helping me—it is changing the lives of innocent animals who would have had little to no chance without people like you. Every single donation, every share, every encouraging comment, and every act of support means more than you’ll ever know.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in this mission and for helping me continue to fight for these cats. They may never know your names, but they are alive, safe, fed, and loved because of your compassion.

I’m Asking for the Cats, Not for Me. Please Take a Look at My Wish List.

Please consider taking a look at my wish list if you’re able to help. The only reason I ever ask is because I care so much about these cats. If I could do it all on my own, I absolutely would. Every item purchased goes directly to the animals, and I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t truly needed.
I’m located in Somerset, Kentucky, and right now, I’m struggling.
I make just a couple of dollars over minimum wage, but I currently care for more than 40 cats between three feral colonies, three foster kittens, and the many stray and feral cats that depend on me for food every day. On top of that, whenever I can, I also take cat food and litter to people who are struggling financially because I never want a cat to go hungry just because their family is having a hard time.
The last two weeks have been especially hard. Two of my own six cats had emergency vet visits, and I spent $480 making sure they got the care they needed. I wouldn’t change that for the world, but it definitely put me in a difficult spot financially. All I could think about was how I was going to continue feeding all the other cats that rely on me.
Last Friday, I also took two of my foster kittens to the vet for their first vaccinations. One of them ended up needing antibiotics and eye drops, so that was another unexpected expense. Of course they’re worth every penny, but the costs just keep adding up.
On July 10, we drove from Somerset, Kentucky, to Lexington, Kentucky (about an hour and a half each way) with 14 cats for TNR. At the end of this month, we’ll be making another trip from Somerset, Kentucky, to Bowling Green, Kentucky (about an hour and 45 minutes each way) with eight more cats for spay and neuter. Just a couple of weeks ago, my friend and I drove from Somerset, Kentucky, to Cincinnati, Ohio (about a 3½ to 4-hour drive each way) to transport 12 rescued kittens to two different rescues because they were the only ones able to take them. Between the gas, food, litter, medical care, and everyday supplies, the costs add up incredibly fast.
Right now, our biggest need is food—both dry and wet—but there are other supplies on the wish list that we use every single day. I don’t expect anyone to buy everything. If you’re able to send even one item, whether it’s a few cans of food, a bag of kibble, litter, or another supply, it truly helps more than you know.
I promise that I’m doing everything I possibly can. My paycheck goes to these cats before it goes anywhere else. I’m simply at the point where I could really use some help.
Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared a post, encouraged me, or believed in what we’re doing. Because of all of you, so many cats have been fed, rescued, spayed, neutered, and given a chance at a better life. I truly couldn’t do this without you. ❤️

She Finally Trusted Me ❤️

About 7½ to 8 months ago, I took in this sweet girl after someone rescued her from outside during freezing weather. When she first came here, she was absolutely terrified. She spent the first two months hiding in her cat enclosure and wouldn’t come out at all.
Eventually, she started venturing out, but only for food. If I even walked by, she’d run away. Over the past several months, she slowly began sitting on the footstool next to me, but she still wouldn’t let me touch her.
Today, everything changed.
For the very first time, she let me pet her… and she actually seemed to enjoy it. 🥹
It’s amazing how much patience, love, and giving them the time they need can make a difference. I just wanted to share this little victory because moments like these remind me exactly why rescue is so worth it.

Meet Noodle, a feral kitten my husband and I found in the road last night.

Noodle was in a very busy road next to railroad tracks trying to eat something near the curb. We were passing by and my husband somehow spotted them against the grey pavement. We stopped and my husband tried to catch them but they ran under a metal structure where he couldn't reach. We went home quickly (maybe 5-10min) and grabbed some pate treats and a ribbon toy and Noodle was already in the road again! We cornered and caught them safely, thankfully. There wasn't any sign of other kittens or mom that we could see. Vet appt this morning, they are very scared but bathed themself in front of me after a small breakfast (very thin, so I didn't want to make them sick with too much food). We have two adult cats (10 years that we've had since they were young) but never found a feral kitten before so this will be a new adventure. I'm happy I found this community and the super comprehensive kitten season post!

Just wanna say thank you so much

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

To everyone who donated from our wishlist, sent kind messages, offered encouragement, shared our posts, or even just gave an upvote or boost—thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

The support we’ve received has meant so much. Every can of food, every bag of litter, every dollar, every share, and every kind word helps more than you know. It helps the foster kittens currently in our care, and it helps the stray and feral cat colonies we work hard to feed and care for every day.

I’m located in Somerset, Kentucky, and resources for animal rescue here are very limited. Because of that, the support from this community truly makes a difference. There are so many cats and kittens that are fed, cared for, and given a chance because people took the time to help.

Thank you for believing in what we’re doing. Thank you for caring about these animals. We appreciate every single one of you more than words can express.

With gratitude,
Aimee and all the kitties

Seven Hungry Kittens, Colony Cats, and Two Upcoming TNR Trips — Sharing My Wishlist One Last Time This Month

I’m posting my wishlist one more time before next month and hoping to get through the next few weeks. i’m located in Somerset, Kentucky.

Right now I’m fostering 7 kittens on my own. They’ve recently switched to wet food mixed with formula, and let me tell you, 7 growing kittens can put away food fast. They’re going through a 12-pack of kitten food in about two days because they’re eating four times a day, and I want to make sure they’re getting plenty to eat while they grow.

On top of that, I’m caring for several colony cats. The biggest need right now is wet kitten food and dry adult cat food. Each feeding station takes around a 15-pound bag of food to fill, and I maintain 5 different feeding stations that need to be refilled twice a week.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who has donated so far. Your kindness has helped more than you know. Next week I plan to post pictures of some of the donated items along with a proper thank-you because I truly appreciate every bit of help.

Things are just piling up a little right now. I recently dewormed all 7 kittens, and the costs of food, supplies, and vet care add up quickly.

I also have spay/neuter appointments coming up on June 12 and June 19. I’m taking 8 cats on the first trip and 7 more on the second. The clinic only charges $25 per cat, which is amazing, but between that and the gas for the 1.5-hour drive each way, it still becomes a lot.

If anyone would like to take a look at the wishlist, I’d be incredibly grateful. If not, that’s okay too. Even sharing the post helps get it in front of people who may be able to help.

Thank you for reading, and thank you to everyone who has supported these cats and kittens.
