Lyft Drivers in Canada
Hello, we just visited Halifax N.S. In Canada and everyone was super friendly except the Lyft drivers. One pulled up on our last day and said that he couldn't take 4 people and drove off. He said that we should've booked Lyft XL.
The next driver picked us up but said that he was only supposed to take 3 and no one is supposed to sit in the front seat. He made it sound like he was making an exception for us. All the drivers we rode with during our trip were very quiet. I assumed that was just how it was there. Were they maybe angry that we were a family of four?
Everything I find on Lyft's website is that regular Lyft is for up to 4 people.
So, is it rude to have 4 riders?
Grocery store in a town called Wolfville in Canada
Is the logo a coincidence?
DAE prefer stale food?
I love cereal, cookies and cheese puffs stale. I don't know anyone who is like me (in many ways). I leave things open on purpose because I love the texture. It's an ongoing argument with my wife. I just wish there was a way to speed up the process of getting stale.
Maybe I'm weird but It's hard to beat a cup of dry, stale Honeycombs or cheese balls.
Oddly enough, I hate stale bread.
I have an idea for a medical device that is not patented. Where would I start?
Maybe everyone thinks they have an invention idea that'll make them rich and I sound like an idiot. I think I have an idea for a specific urological device that could really help people and maybe one day make me and someone else less poor. I'd prefer to talk about it one on one though. Anyone?
Genetic predisposition
Anyone else have family members with a stricture? I just found out that my biological father has one. I'm positive that I can trace my stricture back to a straddle injury when I was 15. (48 now). I'm wondering if my genetic makeup made me more likely to develop a stricture. From what I read some genes may contribute to the way the body creates scar tissue. Maybe that's why some people have a catheter for an unrelated surgery and develop a stricture and others don't.
Two roofs
If you're inspecting two houses 3' apart do you jump roof to roof or get down and set up the ladder again? I felt like it would've been so easy to just jump (w/cougar paws) but I chickened out.
S&WB Lines (interesting to me/ boring to most people?)
A Sewage & Water Board truck was outside my house when I left for work this morning. The guy said "good morning, we're just trimming branches around our lines. We won't be long" and pointed up.
When the water board says "our lines" I assume they mean water lines. Water is sort of their thing. I looked up in confusion so he explained. Evidently the water board has their own electrical lines to power the plant. I guess they run straight from the power plant to the water plant. I have power lines on both sides of my street and never really thought about it but know I know why.
Weird voting today
I thought I've always showed my id to vote. I walked up today, license in hand, and she waved it away and said "you don't need that". I honestly don't have strong feelings about it either way. I just found it odd.
I also had to verbally declare a party affiliation, (republican, democrat or no affiliation) which was a little uncomfortable.
