Infuriatingly impossible rounds you'd never actually do but are great ideas nonetheless

Have you ever come across content or had an idea that begs to be made into a trivia round but you just know its far too specialized? I was working on content for a hockey league fundraiser and found this collection of NHL Goal Horns. Perfect Audio round content, but virtually impossible.

What gems have you found and passed over because they're too challenging? Or did you find the right audience for that content and they crushed it? Or, did you do it anyway just for the LOLs?

Columbia House Records, yes, but how about Book of the Month Club?

Same idea as Columbia House. For a while the sign-up bonus was the eleven volume set of Will and Ariel Durant's Story of Civilization, or the compact edition of the Oxford English Dictionary. Super thin paper with four reduced pages per page. Came with a magnifying glass in a drawer.

I wish to report that in the process of cleaning my garage I succeeded in putting no fewer than 47 things on top of other things.

Hey... that's that guy from... you know... whatsisname from that show...

Had these sitting in an album on my phone for ages thinking about making a picture round where you identify the familiar but kind of unknown actor. My media bubble isn't very recent… Are there more recent actors you would add to this collection?

When I'm crafting rounds I shoot for 60 to 80% successful responses from players.

How do you position your trivia business in your local market?

For those of you who have been doing this a while, how do you position yourselves? Are you mostly grinding out weekly bar gigs, or going after private/corporate events?
When you talk to a new venue, what's your actual pitch? How do you prove you're worth what you charge (headcount, bar ring)?

Also, what are you doing to actually get butts in seats instead of just hoping the bar's regulars decide to play? Is there a specific rule or mechanic you use that makes your game stand out from the standard pub quiz down the street?

Just trying to get a sense of how other hosts operate since we all do things a bit differently. Thanks!

Changed up my final leaderboard reveal. Love how it went over!

Like lots of you I've been leveraging AI to code a game management system. I've always used a fanfare for the leaderboard reveals. For the final leaderboard this time I used Suno to create an extended riff off the fanfare, had each team displayed in order from last to first with a couple fun "by the numbers" facts about their performance. Generated a lot of excitement.

Post-outage flood event survey from MB Hydro. Question 1.

The outage during torrential rains resulting in several feet of water in our basement due to sump pump with no power? That outage? Was I aware of it? Yes. Yes I was.
