Don't come to Carleton University-egregious 50% tuition increase

I’m an international nursing student at Carleton University. Last year, our tuition was 38.8k (Sept–April). The posted tuition for Fall 2026 was originally 41k (screenshot attached).

But I just received an email saying the tuition will increase to 59.3k for Fall 2026. That’s a 52.5% increase.

However, Carleton has clearly stated on its website that “international tuition fees are subject to an annual increase of 5–8%.”

For incoming international nursing students: don’t come to Carleton. UOttawa is much cheaper and offers 70k scholarships, while Carleton is doing this to us.

International students are being treated as cash cows, with no respect whatsoever. You have no guarantee of how much you’ll pay to graduate.

Carleton has completely stripped away whatever remaining love or trust I had for it.

DM me if you'd like to join me in protesting or sign a collective email. The official tuition will be posted by the end of June, so we still have room to fight for it.

International students are being treated as cash cows with no respect whatsoever. What if they suddenly decide to increase the tuition to 1 million tmr?

I feel like Carleton has completely stripped away whatever remaining love or trust I have for this school. Now I just feel anger and disappointment. It puts a huge financial burden on us and feels devastating.

Disgusting tuition increase for international students

I’m an international nursing student. Last year, our tuition was 38.8k (Sept–April). The posted tuition for Fall 2026 was originally 41k, which was ok (screenshot evidence in the comment)

But I just received an email saying the tuition will increase to 59.3k for fall 2026. That’s a 52.5% increase!!

However, Carleton has put it clearly on its website that "international tuition fees are subject to an annual increase of 5-8% pending Senate approval".

To incoming international nursing students: don't come to Carleton. UOttawa is way cheaper and offers 70k scholarships while Carleton is doing this to us.

DM me if you'd like to join us/ sign a collective email. The official tuition will be posted by the end of June, so we still have room to speak up about it.

Update: Carleton has changed the tuition back to 43k so I'm happy 😊 wish you all the best

How to interpret xielian's "live for me"?

So I've been thinking about when XL told little HC if you don't know the point of staying alive, then stay alive for me, live for me.

Despite showing how young, righteous, confident and naive XL was at that time, why do you think he said that? And how to interpret these words?

XL himself also recalled and said he doesn't know why he said that. But I still feel like it's very interesting for a person to say something like that, which was also very important and it changed HC's life.

And it must carry some meanings so that XL still remembers he said these words 800 later. I'd like to hear your thoughts!

How do some online profs make a living by this

Some online profs barely reply to emails, the online modules are outdated from yrs ago. The exam questions don't seem to be mentioned in their boring lectures.

They also require the most updated textbook, while the lectures are still the old version.

Most work is done by the TAs.

I'm wondering what do they do then? Like do they run many online courses? Do they teach some in person courses, do research (doesn't seem like)? Or do they have some other jobs?

I'm just kinda surprised at how they can do so little and make a living ig. Is life that easy for them.

Has anyone had any experiences with FITA from intention to action? How was it? Im struggling with academic stress management and maintaining work life balance. I think I need more help with mental health and study strategies than academic performances. The single counselling sessions weren't very helpful so I'm thinking of FITA, which seems to be more long term help. Thanks for your advice!

Guys, I’m not sure if anyone’s talked about this amazing creator on Bilibili.

She’s been making fan-made animatics since 2020, and the quality is insane like, on par with the official donghua.

She’s recreated scenes like the underwater kiss and even redid the part where XL falls onto HC’s lap (the version that got changed in the official release), and a bunch more.

I highly recommend checking out all her work. It’s a bit unfortunate that only her earlier videos have translations, but they’re still 100% worth watching.

Here's the link to one of her productions: 【鬼会需要渡气吗3-哔哩哔哩】 https://b23.tv/CFQD4Be
