[OC] The Synthetic Gods — a Mage: The Ascension campaign disguised as a 90s GeoCities site (playable in browser)

I run a Mage: The Ascension campaign called The Synthetic Gods . I built a website for it, and now there's a browser game inside it.

What it is

Set in 1999. The Millennium is breaking and the magic is happening on the early web: GeoCities, webrings, IRC, guestbooks, Usenet. The premise is that code can be crafted into a sigil, that a shared space where enough people believe in something grows an egregore, and that an egregore worshipped hard enough crystallizes into an astrosoma. A synthetic god made of silicon and faith.

The site is meant to be a thing my players found, not a wiki I handed them. HTML tags are the components. GeoCities neighborhoods are the spheres.

Static HTML, CSS and JavaScript. No build step, no framework, no dependencies, no accounts. You open the URL and it works. 47 pages, 4 faction hubs, 40 NPC dossiers.

The campaign info is locked behind the site

This is the part that turned it into an actual campaign tool. Reading the grimoire isn't the game. What you do on the page is.

Egregore power is the currency. Visits, sigils you draw, guestbook entries and bug reports all push a 0–100 meter. The astrosoma needs 10,000 to arrive, which is out of reach for anyone who just clicks around for ten minutes.

Sigil generation. You type an intent and it renders as one of five arrangements (linear, mirrored, spiral, grid, runic). Then you charge it: progress bar, egregore power, a tone. Drawn sigils persist in your browser.

The Neon Oracle. You ask a question, you get an HTTP status code out of seventeen (200 201 204 301 302 304 400 401 403 404 408 418 429 500 502 503 504) plus an interpretation of it. The interpretation reads your actual question, so the register shifts depending on whether you asked something technical, personal, prophetic or mystical. Asking costs egregore power. There's also a Daily Fortune seeded by the date, so everyone gets the same reading on a given day, and a query history you can export as JSON.

Faction reputation. Four tracks, 0–100 each: Technocracy, Virtual Adepts, Cypherpunks, Hollow Ones. You gain rep by doing things that fit the faction. Report bugs and care about standards, the Technocracy likes you. Break things, the Virtual Adepts do. ROT13 and crypto, the Cypherpunks. Visit at 03:33, break the glitch effects, write poetry, the Hollow Ones. Hit the threshold and that faction's hub and roster unlock.

The Konami code turns on GOD MODE, which shows the four faction hubs directly.

Quest log. Objectives check against your live state, completions notify, follow-ups unlock.

Ritual Hour. At 03:33 UTC something happens. If you're on the site you'll know.

The endgame. The Great Work needs maxed egregore power, high rep across factions, several sigils, a fed guestbook, and at least one Ritual Hour visit. Then you open the console and run window.SYNTHETIC_GODS.ascend(). If it lands, an astrosoma is born and claims its Domain. If it doesn't, you get the other ending.

At the table it goes like this: you find a weird website, you start clicking things, then you notice the clicking is doing something and something is doing something back.

Links

Play it (the minigames live here): https://cha0smagick.github.io/thy-Syntetic-gods---mage-the-ascencion/

Contribute: https://github.com/Cha0smagick/thy-Syntetic-gods---mage-the-ascencion

The README has the site map, all 40 dossiers linked, faction rosters, a walkthrough from first visit to Ascension, a secrets catalog (five tiers, one of them View-Source only), the lore framework, and how it's built.

What I want

Two kinds of help.

Collaborators. ISC licensed, all plain static files. Mostly looking for writers to add more lore and more dossiers, people who want to build more minigames, and anyone who wants to extend the quest log. Tables that play a very different flavor of Mage would be welcome even if your setting isn't mine.

People who want to break it. I built the Oracle, the sigil workshop, the reputation system and the console rituals, and I have no idea which parts are actually satisfying and which are just friction I've stopped noticing. Play it with no context. Tell me where you got confused, where you gave up, what you expected to happen instead, and whether the ending landed.

If something is broken or ugly, report it. There's an in-site bug report hook and it feeds Technocracy rep, so the site pays you for filing one.

Caveats

English only. I'm Colombian, this is in the language of the games I actually play, and if someone wants to localize it to Spanish I'd be grateful.

The art is AI generated (NVIDIA Flux). Evocative, not consistent. The character portraits are deliberately a bit wrong. That was a choice.

There's no account, no server, nothing persists outside your own browser, and anyone with devtools can rewrite their own egregore power. Fits the theme more than it probably should.

One person who wanted to make something and kept adding easter eggs long past the point where it made sense. The scope crept.

Thanks

Thanks for reading this insignificant post in an indifferent multiverse.

Any comment works, including the ones telling me the faction thresholds are too high, which is the comment I expect most.

Hey everyone,

I was bored recently and decided to start working on a virtual, open-source version of the classic Illuminati: New World Order (INWO) card game so anyone can jump in and play it freely.

It is currently in a pre-pre-pre-alpha state, but it is fully functional according to the core mechanics and what the game requires to run. I'm posting it here because I’d love for the community to test it out, tear it apart, and give me some feedback.

Since it's completely open-source, feel free to fork the repository, submit pull requests, or contribute in any way you like!

Hope you enjoy it, and I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts and feedback in the comments!

I created a campaign for Mage (Feedback highly appreciated)

I Was drinking the other day and suddenly this pops out of my brain. A campaign for Mage The Ascention where YHWH made a body himself in the material world trought AI. Why? as an anthropologist i think that is one of the final possible scenarios for the AI. But im looking for feedback. What do you think? your comment here would be Highly Appreciated.

I became obsessed with making a ghost hunting app that actually works. After 18 months of 18-hour days, NOCTEM is finally done. I’m giving away free copies to test it worldwide.

Hey everyone,

I need to share a story because I’ve spent the last year and a half practically living inside this project, and I’m finally at the finish line.

I'm an Android developer, but I’m also completely obsessed with ghost hunting and urban exploration. For years, every time I went into an abandoned building, I hated two things: having to carry a heavy, clunky bag full of modified Kinects, recorders, and meters, and seeing the Google Play Store completely flooded with garbage "ghost radar" apps that just generate fake random dots and play spooky sound files.

I had a simple but crazy goal: I wanted to build a single, complete toolkit on an Android phone that actually has everything you need to hunt ghosts in the field—and works reliably.

So I went all in. For over a year and a half, I was literally working 18-hour days.

It was a total nightmare of trial and error. I spent months building tools, taking them into dark environments, testing sensor outputs, measuring signals, keeping what actually worked, and scrapping everything that turned out to be useless background noise or fake visual bugs.

After endless iterations, scrapped builds, and tweaking computer vision models to handle terrible low-light conditions, I finally did it. NOCTEM is finished.

Here is what survived the process:

  • Real SLS Camera: Powered by Google's ML Kit. It maps structural and skeletal anomalies on screen in real time through spatial geometry—no fake visual overlays or scripted nonsense.
  • Low-Frequency EVP Recorder: Tweaked specifically to capture subtle audio hits without the aggressive noise-cancellation filters that usually erase weak voices.
  • Environmental Data: Uses the native magnetometer and sensors for EMF variance alongside directional mapping, saving everything 100% locally to your device. No cloud logins, no tracking.

Now, I need your help for the final phase.

I know it works reliably in my local field tests, but now I need to find out if it holds up everywhere on the planet. I need urban explorers, ghost hunters, and investigators worldwide to take it into different locations, stress-test it, and see what you find.

I’m giving away free copies / promo codes to anyone who wants to help test it or just go out hunting.

If you want to grab it, try it out on your next exploration, and send back field reports or screenshots:

  1. Drop a comment below asking for a copy/code (or DM me directly if the community allows it).
  2. Grab it on the Play Store:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cha0smagicklabs.noctemapp

I’ll be sending codes out to anyone who comments. Let me know what you detect out there!

Technical & Technomantic analysis of a quantum entropy-driven psychogeographic drift app (Bézier + TRNG + OSM)

Hi everyone. I wanted to share with the community the technical architecture and technomantic logic behind a private navigation project I’ve been working on, designed to break the Euclidean logic of modern cartography and enable psychogeographic drift on the physical plane.

The core idea isn't to navigate from point A to point B via the most efficient route, but rather to use technology as a transducer of quantum entropy layered over OpenStreetMap.

Here is a breakdown of how the tech stack is built, in case anyone is interested in the implementation or wants to discuss the theory:

1. Entropy Generation (TRNG Ingestion)

To avoid the determinism of standard OS pseudo-random number generators (PRNG), the core connects via OkHttp and Gson to quantum computing servers (such as the ANU API) to harvest quantum vacuum fluctuations (True Random Number Generator).

  • Logic: Static quantum noise density concentrations are sampled and projected onto the local map to identify probability nodes.

2. Non-Linear Geometry (Bézier Mathematics)

Instead of plotting routes along commercial streets or main thoroughfares, the drift mode challenges the straight line through cubic Bézier curves:

B(t) = (1-t)^3P_0 + 3(1-t)^2tP_1 + 3(1-t)t^2P_2 + t^3P_3

Where P_1 and P_2 are control points generated by a perpendicular offset relative to the destination vector (perpX, perpY) scaled by a controlled chaos factor.

  • Geospatial Correction: To prevent distortions caused by the Earth's curvature when drawing on the Android Canvas, the longitude differential is adjusted based on the current latitude: mDLon = 111320.0 * cos(latRad), compensating for the convergence of meridians toward the poles.

3. Anomaly Classification

The system filters reality perturbations into three states represented in the UI:

  1. Attractor: Points of high entropy density (where reality "accumulates").
  2. Void: Low quantum density zones (absolute silence in the matrix).
  3. Anomaly: Spontaneous fluctuations without a defined pattern.

4. Spectral Rendering & Animation

Built on top of osmdroid with custom drawing layers directly on the Canvas:

  • Marching Arrows: Linear polyline interpolation (interpolateAlongPath) to animate vectors flowing toward the target node.
  • Sinusoidal Pulse: The opacity (glow) of the paths is calculated using a sine function to simulate an organic pulsation:

Alpha(t) = \frac{\sin(t \cdot 2\pi) + 1}{2}

5. Android Architecture & Privacy

  • Zero-Google Dependency: Communicates directly with the device's native GPS—no Google Play Services, no third-party trackers, and no telemetry sent to corporate servers (ideal for deGoogled setups).
  • Local Persistence: Room manages the local database of visited anomalies. Your data never leaves your device.
  • Background Tasks: WorkManager executes low-energy periodic scans without locking the UI, powered by Kotlin Coroutines.

🧪 Field Testing & Free Promo Codes for the Community

The app is currently published on the store as EerieRoads, but as a fellow member of technomancy and chaos magick communities, I’m not here to sell you anything.

I’m primarily interested in technical feedback and real-world field experiences (measuring synchronicities, Bézier route stability, dark UI performance, etc.).

If anyone is interested in testing the interface or conducting psychogeographic drifts:

  1. Send me a Direct Message o leave one here on this thread (DM) letting me know you're from this subreddit.
  2. I will send you a 100% free promo code on Google Play so you don't have to pay anything.
  3. All I ask in return is your honest feedback or a review on the Play Store to help debug the code and refine the entropy algorithms.

For those who want to check out the general listing with no obligation:

Looking forward to your thoughts or any discussion on the interaction between TRNG and urban drifting. thx.

New technomancy App: PSI GYM

https://preview.redd.it/uovuzp8uqg7h1.png?width=513&format=png&auto=webp&s=918bac1606edc34aa1ac4d90b2ecdf11217d42bc

Have you ever wondered if you possess telepathic abilities? Now, you can finally put them to the test. I have developed a new application (now available on the Play Store) that replicates Karl Zener’s classic ESP card experiment.

Thanks to modern computational power, this isn’t just a simple detection tool. By isolating the interface from external cognitive interference, I’ve minimized environmental noise to ensure your results are derived purely from your own psychic resonance. Furthermore, the app tracks your performance over time, visualizing your Harmonization Tendency—a metric representing the stability of your connection to objective reality and your cumulative success percentage in telepathic manifestations.

To satisfy the rigors of metaphysical research, the app supports both sampling methods: with replacement and without replacement. You may select the statistical framework that best aligns with your paradigm of belief.

The Technomantic Framework

In the context of the Zener test, we utilize 25 samples to determine if a subject’s performance deviates from pure chance. In the language of technomancy, we define this as the Deviation from Stochastic Noise.

The Statistical Basis (n = 25)

In a standard 5-symbol Zener set, the probability of a random hit (p) is 0.2. With a sample size of n = 25:

  • Expected Mean (mu): n x p = 25 x 0.2 = 5 hits.
  • Variance (sigma^2):
  • With replacement: sigma^2 = n x p x (1 - p) = 25 x 0.2 x 0.8 = 4.
  • Without replacement: We apply the Finite Population Correction (FPC). Since the deck is finite, the variance is reduced, making the test more sensitive to minor fluctuations in telepathic intent.

Metaphysical Interpretation

  • The Null Hypothesis (H_0): Your intent is zero; you are merely interacting with the static of the algorithm. Performance follows a binomial distribution centered at 5.
  • The Technomantic Variance: Any score significantly higher than the expected mean (specifically when $Z > 1.96$ for a 95% confidence interval) suggests that the user has successfully "bypassed the lattice," exerting influence over the app’s digital entropy to manifest the desired result.

Sampling Methodologies

  • With Replacement (Infinite Source): Assumes a state of "Universal Flux." The probability remains constant, treating each attempt as an independent event. Ideal for those who view telepathy as drawing from an inexhaustible field.
  • Without Replacement (Fixed Pattern): Assumes a "Closed System" causality. As cards are removed, the probability space shifts. This is preferred for practitioners who view telepathy as a targeted manipulation of a finite, localized energetic structure.

For those interested in conducting their own trials and feedback, I am offering free copies of the app. Please request yours in the replies below (Note: You must be a member of r/technomancy to qualify)."

technomancy app to invoke goetian demons.

hi reddit, its me again.

I have just finished a new project. For years, I studied the ritual of the Goetia, and I have finally managed to translate it into an app by establishing correspondences between code and the ritual of invoking Goetic demons. The app is already available on the Play Store for $3.99, but if anyone would like to try it out, I would be happy to gift a copy in exchange for feedback to further refine the ritual and make it even more effective.

So, if you want a copy of the Android app 'Arcana Goetia: Ritual and Sigils,' don't hesitate to leave a comment on this thread. Any insights or feedback you have on the app are also more than welcome. Remember, all of this is brought to you by Cha0smagick Labs."

Free Tecnomancy apps in Android as request

Hi Reddit, me again.

Thank you so much to everyone who checked out and upvoted my project's website. I finally found people who actually understand the technomagical concept.

Cha0smagick Labs is going well, so it's time for me to give back some love by sharing some free Android apps related to the project. All you need to do is send me a DM or leave a reply requesting any of our apps from the Play Store, and I'll give it to you completely free. only if that fits the rules of r/Technomancy.

The idea is to use this thread for two-way feedback about the apps and how to improve them.

Just as a reminder: Cha0smagick Labs transforms ancient practices into Android apps for the digital preservation of these ancient magical forms. Feel free to ask anything about it, and thank you so much for the amazing reception.

hi reddit.

I declared myself as a technomancer in 2020 and founded my own company based on technomancy. Usually i develop Apps trying to "emulate" different magical traditions i studied from around the world.

its a hard path i can told ye. lots of people see me a as a crazy developer, but my mission besides selling something is to preserve this kind of information for future generations trought mobile tech something almost anyone has a direct connection nowadays. Why? bz im an anthropologist, is my the thing i decided to do with my life. what can i say? if you know or want an app related to technomancy developed, just look for me. more than happy to help.
