Building for health or environment? Add weather readings x cited science research to your app via API

Are you building in the health or environment space?

Send us your own environment data or use ours with a health context (Eg. Migraines) and we'll send back a JSON with relevant citations, the synthesis and environment scan.

We curate a corpus of 600K papers on environment related health, sports and longevity topics and integrate with Google Environment APIs to ground our AI. We can embed or white label and feel trusted sources can improve trust and engagement in users - https://vasus.ai/

Example call;

Your app identifies: user in Saint Paul, migraine trigger correlation with barometric pressure drops, recent episode logged 6 hours after a 7 mb drop.

vasus returns: "Pressure drops of 5 mb or more are associated with migraine onset within 24 hours in around 40% of weather-sensitive migraineurs. Your recent 7 mb drop fits this pattern — worth flagging to your specialist."

Evidence attached: Marrelli et al 2019 (Journal of Headache and Pain, n=87), Becker 2021 (Cephalalgia meta-analysis).

And if you're doing something cool and your volumes aren't huge happy to look at an extended free tier particularly if you're in the health research/impact/not-for-profit space.

Best recovery protocols - what works and what doesn't for longterm health/conditioning

I'm a bloke in his 40s and my connection with Muay Thai has had ups and downs depending on life and work.

Right now I feel I'm in a reasonably good way after a few years of trial and error. For me;

  1. Daily training every week is a no-no - I need at least one day to recover between sessions that even includes basic bag work as I've had issues with fingers, tendon clusters on the wrist.
  2. Sleep - probably the most important thing I've found, I will literally pause if I've a stretch of low quality sleep
  3. Nutrition - usual protein/creatine with whole foods
  4. I don't track anything really at the moment but after a bit of wear and tear I'lll get the wall calendar out with good/bad days.
  5. Draw full of finger splints, braces and KT tapes - soon as I get even a slight ding, or feel I will, particularly if I've got heavy work (use my hands a lot) I'll get support tape out.

vasus update - environmental health AI agent (mod approved)

Hey all,

This is an update related to a business tool we built connecting allergies to your location to the science behind allergies (sub-type, triggers etc). Mods kindly allowed us to invite beta testers here - https://www.reddit.com/r/Allergies/comments/1soi4zj/beta_testers_wanted_free_environmental_health/ . It's going OK and we're progressing with a few partners.

Based on feedback and our roadmap we're building something a bit more user friendly rather than for digital businesses - https://vasus.ai/mybriefing-demo/ . It's a daily email briefing built by our environmental health AI for wherever you want to monitor, no account needed, free but limited. As we grow we'll add some more services as needed and potentially connect up with healthcare platforms so you can get a clinical view if you need it. Most likely this will have to be paid but we'll try to cap it where we can in a free tier.

The tool sits on top of the platform I shared earlier. Still the same idea - scan the location, find the science, then link to someones health condition.

We've also downplayed the 20 city index we introduced to see which cities were healthiest for allergies with something a bit more useful (like just collecting the data on a location and making it available, no ranking). So you'll be able to see historically how good or bad a location maybe for you.

Our other piece, which may not be helpful but happy to share is around personal health goals and how to connect up all your related bits. Could be anything from sleep to longevity but could also include allergies - think of it like a living diary for your allergy management, shareable with your clinicians https://vasus.ai/os/tour/?t=sleep

Feedback welcome.

Would this help? Feedback please - Journal, experiment space, research buddy, outcome map for GLP-1, all in 1 space - tool not an app, free and on your device

Hey all,

I'd really appreciate feedback on our idea. But specifically - would this help you? We want something that would actually work. The plan is to make it free, open framework, you will have to tweak yourself but it'll be straightforward.

3 main areas;

Your ledger - everything you want to use to understand your weight loss. Locked, only you have access and are able to share it. Pubmed research, your protocol, diet, supplements, notes, your day-to-day, tracking data from wearables etc. Your experiments too.
Your map - your ledger + external info so all the research on GLP-1 for example and titration levels from doctors
Your path - what's working and what's not over 90 days but also compared to the averages the research indicates from Pubmed with a conversational interface. Taking into account your complete day and life at your location.

What do you think?

Disclaimer: This started out as a health fitness idea - more for training but likely extends to weight loss too.

vasus.ai update - environmental health AI research assistant (mod approved post)

Hey Riyadh,

I'm the founder of a startup, vasus. ai, focused on environmental health research and analysis - we help answer questions like "How will my sleep be affected by Delhi's climate - show me the past month, the science and pollution levels". Always cited research, never hallucinated.

We were kindly allowed to share with the community some of our work back in April - we indexed Delhi against other global cities for environmental health and invited feedback on our research tool. Thank you for all the input. It's been a busy time progressing the platform, here's our monthly update;

New tooling

We're introducing a more intuitive free public service. Try the demo here: https://vasus.ai/mybriefing-demo/

Get a daily read on how your neighbourhood affects you with a personal environment report showing when and how to go about your day. This will be launched October/November but you can signup now.

Rebrand and wider scope

We're now a environmental health AI research assistant that can be added to any business app rather than pure data gathering.

We're still monitoring key global cities and will provide historic data on them but have removed the index for now. More news on that next month.

We've rolled out more health contexts and how the environment impacts including;

  • Asthma
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Migraine
  • Hypertension
  • Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Mental health
  • Pregnancy
  • Elderly
  • Healthy/preventative
  • Cancers
  • Children
  • COPD
  • Allergies
  • Kidney disease
  • Stroke
  • Arthritis
  • Sleep disorders

(Though please note: the research tool only currently covers Ashma, CV, Migraine, Allergies and Sleep disorders currently and how the environment affects them)

Thank you, any suggestions or feedback welcomed.

Sparring vs Fight - easier to get minor injury/accident'd and why?

My thinking - no ref, less in-the-moment intention, slowness or just-sparring-mentality leads to over-confidence, injuries slighter but more unguarded.

In the ring - ref, focused, injuries possible but heavier/less accidental/unguarded, we're just more aware, more intention.

Reta seems to be getting a lot of traction - like

I have plenty of sub-reddits where people have gone for Reta over pure GLP-1.

Thoughts? I don't know for sure but feel people are just jumping straight to it without trying anything else.
