Soon to start my GLP1 Journey
Hey everyone!
I hsve an appointment with my PCP in November to see about starting on a GLP1. What are some things I need to do to fully prepare for it?
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,
I’ve been taking tirzepatide for quite a while now. I started with the original Mounjaro, and for the last three months I’ve been using compounded/non-brand tirzepatide.
I’ve been on 7.5 mg for basically the entire last three months, so that’s why this new side effect is really confusing and honestly a little scary to me.
A few days ago, shortly after my injection, I suddenly started noticing a very strange sensation in my skin. It feels almost exactly like a sunburn, even though there is absolutely nothing visible on my skin. No redness, no rash, no swelling, nothing.
The weirdest part is that it’s not really painful unless I touch the area. My skin feels extremely sensitive to clothing or even light touch, almost like the nerves are hypersensitive. At the same time, some areas feel slightly numb.
And it seems to move around.
It started around my lower abdomen/side, then I noticed it on the front of my thigh. That area improved, but then the sensation appeared closer to my knee. The injection itself was in my arm, so it definitely isn’t localized to the injection site.
It’s such a strange sensation. The best way I can describe it is:
“My skin feels sunburned, but there is no sunburn.”
Has anyone experienced something similar on tirzepatide/Mounjaro/Zepbound?
Especially if you’ve been on 7.5 mg for a long time and this suddenly appeared out of nowhere, I’d really love to hear your experience.
Did it go away on its own? How long did it last? Did you continue taking tirzepatide, reduce the dose, or stop?
I’m honestly a little worried because I’ve never experienced anything like this before. I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had the same thing. 🙏
Hi everyone! I’m conducting early-stage research to better understand the real-life challenges people experience before, during, and after GLP-1 treatment—especially returning food noise, medication access, maintenance, and weight regain.
I created a short anonymous survey for people at any stage of their journey, including those currently taking a GLP-1, spacing doses, unable to access medication, or no longer taking it.
The form does not collect names, email addresses, or Reddit usernames, and you are welcome to skip any question. This is independent product research—not a clinical study, medical advice, or a promotion for a medication or company. I’m trying to understand the problem before designing a possible solution.
If you’re comfortable sharing your experience, I would really appreciate your input:
Take the anonymous GLP-1 experience survey
Thank you for helping me learn from the people who are actually living through this.
Hi all!
Out of the bat, I am not shilling a paid tool - I have built something and am hoping to work with some friends to make it better. screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/uJI5MCN
The project is called Dialed. It is meant to be a health journal for folks across the spectrum looking to do the shot, hit their goal, and get off the shot healthy.
The app is privacy-first, everything is encrypted on the device, face-id hides compound names by default.
The hero is protein: tapping the protein bar lets you scan barcodes using the FDA's free database or use the search tool to log food.
Underneath: water, movement, and sleep.
For me, I am also logging bowel movements, caffeine, nicotine etc because I want to see how those behaviors over time affect my body.
Weight and trends are pulled from apple health (if you want) or can be hand-keyed.
The shot is the last thing and tracking it is completely up to you.
I would love to have some folks test it out, let me know what else you'd want to see etc.
May open up a discord if we get enough folks in and happy to get the first 50 joiners a starbucks giftcard after 2 weeks of feedback.
It fave me bodywide itching right after 1 st injection and itching plus tongue and throat tingling right after 2nd injection. But boy did those 2 injections work remarkably well.
Curious if any others were allergic to it but then found another GLP that was fine and still worked
Got new insurance and lost coverage, I had an over stock of 1.7mg shots. I have been micro dosing a while now. I have the 4mg pills now. My question is, I have insulin syringes so it’s done in units. 1.7mg of Wegovy is 70 units. I want to be giving myself close to the equivalent of the .5 or 1mg shot since that’s what the 4mg pills are close too. How many units would that be? I’ve been doing 25-30 units. Now don’t come at me or give me the formula to figure it out.. I really just need someone to tell me. Also, my doctor is cool with this. I just don’t wanna start the 4mg pills and get sick because I have not been giving myself enough in the shot. TIA.
I have no idea how to start weight traing. Any advice?
Hello. I recently started taking the Wegovy pill and the pill‘s taste is so off putting that i’m wondering if anyone has any tips. Does cold water help mask the taste? The taste remains on my tongue for several minutes. Thanks all
Hello! I (f30) purchased Mounjaro in Mexico. I am currently 145 and want to microdose to get back to the 120s. I already cardio/lift daily, it’s the food noise and binge eating I’ve recently fell victim to. Anyways, this is my first time, can someone help me understand the dosage and anything else I should know for first time? TIA!
Over the past 2 years I have tried Zepbound, Wegovy and back to Zepbound, but could never get past 2.5 without being extremely ill every day. Has anyone had the same experience but are now taking the
glp pill(wegovy/fundayo) and are tolerating it well?
Hi everyone,
I’m a Registered Dietitian currently conducting qualitative research into the broader, real-world impacts of GLP-1 receptor agonists (both during active use and after tapering/discontinuing).
While clinical trials give us clear macro-data on weight loss and HbA1c, I am interested in understanding the everyday, lived patient experience—particularly regarding digestive health, the gut, and the mental/emotional shifts that accompany these medications, from the weird shifts in motility and stubborn constipation to food tolerances randomly changing overnight, I want to hear the UNFILTERED REALITY of your overall gut microbiome experience.
If you're currently on a GLP-1 (or have tapered off/ stopped), I’d love to chat about a few things:
I’m not selling anything or promoting a program—just genuinely trying to learn from people living it so I can understand the gut-brain side of this better.
Would love to hear your experiences in the comments! 👇
hey everyone so i met with my dr today and told her my goal weight is 135.. i started at 249 back in april 2025 and im sitting at 209 rn on my thrid week of 7.5.
she literaly told me the med is only proven to take off 20% of ur body weight.. so she thinks ive basically maxed out. she made it sound like shes gonna pull my script completely once i hit 200.
i just dont get it.. has anyone else had a doctor say this?? i see soooo many ppl on here losing 100+ pounds all the time. i was feeling sooo good about my progress and now i just feel completely crushed :( i am def finding a new doctor if she trys to stop my meds.
So I’m only about two months in taking wegovy orally. I’m currently at 4mg, but am switching to the injection, starting at .25mg. I’m a little bit nervous, even though it was my decision. Has anyone else switched from the pill to the injection? What differences did you notice? Any downsides/upsides or advice?
Doing a bunch of research on getting tirzepatide prescribed through an online men's clinic and the number of options is crazy. I'm dealing with stubborn weight that won't budge no matter what and my regular doc basically shrugged. So I'm trying to look for a legitimate telehealth platform that can do the consult, labs and ship the medication discreetly to my door without me having to drive to some office. Anyone know which online GLP-1 weight loss services for men are actually worth it? Would love a rec from someone who's actually been through the process, specifically around pricing transparency and whether the provider access is actually unlimited or just a sales pitch.
I started on Semaglutide in July 2004. The weight came off super fast. I ended up skipping shots, eventually stopping altogether. The weight came back. I started back up again through another online company and after a few months, didn’t lose anything, which I have read that others have had that problem. I decided to switch to Tirzepatide, as that was recommended. I have been on it since May and have maybe lost 5 pounds. I’m debating going back to Semaglutide to see if it will help again.
My question is, has anyone experienced anything similar? What did you end up doing? Could it be the online company that I’m using? Thanks!
I have PCOS (newly renamed PMOS) and sleep apnea. My insurance has denied coverage of the GLP1 for sleep apnea, but the real medical reason I was told to try it is because I am very insulin resistant and despite doing all I can with diet and exercise, i keep a certain amount off and cannot go any further. I am trying to start the medication because my PCOS/PMOS symptoms are ruining my life and cost me my job. Migraines from hormonal flucutations that come with aura that block my vision, hot flashes and rosacea, off the charts inflammation in my blood work and the list goes on. The migraines and nausea have become so bad I cannot work my office job. I'm currently in a 6 day migraine spell, my migraine prescriptions aren't working.
I tried getting a PA approved but it was denied leaving me with my cost being in the thousands and thats not possible. How can I get this medication at an affordable cost? or is being poor just a barrier to entry. Realistically I could spend 150 at most 250 a month. I don't know if I should even bother. I'm just getting sicker and the out of pocket cost is the only thing keeping me from a normal life.
Okay not literally everyone but ive been thinking about what society is gonna look like in 20 years if glp1s just keep blowing up. u can already notice things shifting day to day.
If mass adoption actually happens, what do u think the inevitable fallout will be? my main guess is we are gonna start seeing a ton of random nutritional deficiencies. that might lowkey force the food industry to finally overhaul how they process our stuff.
What other wild or non obvious changes do u guys see coming down the road?
I joined program, and I'm taking my 2nd injection this evening. I do not have insurance.
My provider said that panels are strongly recommended to use the
Since I don't have insurance, I'm not sure how to go about this. I was wondering if anyone else here is in the same situation (no insurance, doing this out of pocket), and if so, how do you get the panels done?
TIA!
Just took my first wegovy pill this morning and have been waiting for horrible side effects since I've freaked myself out reading all the horror stories, lol. Stats: F 60 y/o, cw 158 gw 135. Hoping for the best and ready!
I didn't realize how much recurring membership fees could add up until I started looking at the total cost over a year. The medication price by itself doesn't really tell you what you're actually spending.
I'm curious how everyone thinks about these extra fees when comparing the overall cost of treatment.
