Dating when you’re happy with your life is… unsatisfying

Does anyone struggle with dating apps when they are quite content with their lives, so it’s hard to settle for less? I spent a long time creating a really great life for myself, and getting in a relationship will mean changing that. And I hate change! Whilst I’d love to meet someone who is in the same position I am in (life, financials, insight into neurodivergence if autistic, wellbeing, career), it is quite unlikely and I know it is realistic to compromise. But I really just don’t want to! If I didn’t want kids I probably wouldn’t be bothering with dating as much, but the heart wants what the heart wants.

Also just as a question - I am doing 100% of the rejections; is this normal? All of them seem extremely keen, they are telling their mum about me, etc. I’m quite selective about who I match with, and most of them seem like very decent dates, so I’d imagine they’d be attractive partners to other women too. I just thought guys would be just as choosy as women can, or are they happy to go with anyone?

Hi all

My teen’s mum is in Indonesia, and she has been asking him for $150 AUD (~1.900.000 IDR) for a bus from Medan to Jakarta. She is a local Indonesian and would always choose the cheapest available option. Is this amount accurate? He suspects she is overstating the amount.

Has anyone here established a discretionary trust whilst single, but with the intention of incorporating future kids/their descendants? I am dating currently and do want children.

I have been investing via building investment properties, and have purchased land to build on. I have a high NW and will also receive a large inheritance.

I do want to ensure my assets are protected as I have been through a divorce. I like the idea that my future children could be added to a discretionary trust so that the assets within them can be held in trust for the children if I die before my future partner. I understand the trust can also protect some premarital assets in case of divorce, although a BFA will also be needed. I know this is way in the future, but as I understand the best time is to establish it now!

I have been recommended by my accountant to move my land (for the house build) into a bucket company for CGT purposes, and establishing a trust during this process shouldn’t be too much more difficult. I’ll probably purchase again at the end of this year or early 2027 using a bucket company. I was wondering if anyone else has been in this position and what you have done?
