I was told when I call out from a shift I can apparently use Vacation time to cover the shift instead of PTO. What's the difference between the 2 if I can just use them both whenever I need to call out.
I've asked around but can't seem to get a solid answer on it and am a little confused on the policy for calling out.
For context I had an accident at work in FedExs truck yesterday. I accidently rear ended someone. We pulled over and luckily nobody was seriously injured. Fedex put me on suspension and now I'm stuck waiting to hear an outcome. I know I screwed up and that's on me. My question is how likely am I to be fired for this. This is my 1st big Accident and it's got me on edge cuz i need this job to pay my bills and I feel like I messed it all up.
Currently Working at another big LTL rn and seen Tforce down the street was hiring. They seem to offer a great benefits package with fully paid Healthcare. Pay is a little less than what I'm making now. They start at 0.70cpm and top out at 0.80cpm from what their page says. Seems to also be a Union Job.
Everything seems mostly good on paper but I'm not sure what this company is like. If any of yall have ever worked for TForce I'd appreciate some input about the company and how they operate 🙏
I've been waiting for a good opportunity to get a decent detector for my Dodge Truck and saw this one for sale online. Seems to be the most popular one, and the price seemed pretty good. What do yall think? Could I have gotten it for less, elsewhere, or is this a good price overall? How is this detector in particular compared to others?
The Hub has been hyping us up for this spin off thing, for a while now but I'm not sure what they're planning on doing. Co workers thinks it's just a pizza party but I'm staying hopeful that they'll give us Chic Fil A instead lol.
Think I lucked out today and got one of the pettiest cops I've ever seen. Pulled into a 7/11 only to notice that the 6 parking spots they had were taken and it had no gas pumps. Decided I'd just go to a different gas station as this 7/11 had no pumps either way and i needed gas so i signaled to leave their parking lot. As soon as I get over to the street the dude pulls me over. I'm confused but decide to comply and be respectful. Dude tells me there was apparently a traffic light 5 blocks down the street and by going into 7/11 and not buying anything from them I've now apparently broken the law. I assume he's joking as this sounds ridiculous but he apparently wasn't. Gave me a ticket for short cut.
I have a clean record and want to keep it clean but I'm not even sure how I'd fight this in court. Any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙏
