2.0 at a current Express station

We're staying open, getting a smaller map for the station that currently covers a ton of zip codes, and at least for now they're telling us we're staying 100% employees, not bringing contractors in. Anyone had a similar experience that's already gone 2.0? How did you get your new delivery area, was the switch immediate or a slow transition? Did your hours get cut horrendously? District managers basically act like we're scum of the earth asking them the most basic questions after they open up the floor for people to ask them, and our newest manager comes from ground and had to be educated on what p1 service was.

Any insights appreciated, good luck to us that are staying for now

Pickups have all day to get their shit ready

You have more than 8 hours to get all those labels printed out yet you dont

Can I ask why? What exactly is more important than getting that stuff ready when those pickups are what make you money? Such a blatant lack of respect for your drivers time

Attn customers: put your fkn pants on

It’s a million degrees out here, I march up to your sixth floor walk up so you could sign for your stupid little zyn pouches, and u answer the door in ur underwear. I’m at work, I shouldn’t have to see your weak little bulge, it’s gross and rude and disrespectful. You’re obviously too lazy to go to the store, but I’m sure you can order a robe online and I’ll deliver it to you.

FedEx package handler or Amazon DSP?

I currently work at an Amazon DSP. 10:30am-9pm 4 days a week. The job is ass. It’s nonstop delivering under time pressure. Average route is 180 stops with at least 20 multi stops. My body is always beat up and sore after work, and I regularly lift. I barely finish my routes, often having to have another driver rescue me (taking packages off me). I got a job offer at a FedEx warehouse at an airport. 6pm-12am 5 days a week.

I have no idea what the job is like, but when I was a seasonal driver helper at UPS, I would help out at the warehouse with unloading after I got back from being out with the driver. I remember it not being bad. We had mini breaks whenever the conveyor belt stopped moving. The only bad thing there was when they put you to scan a bunch of things on a conveyor belt at a rapid pace. Things would fall over the sides and land on you if you got overwhelmed.

Offer

Just accepted the offer I got for another job . Kinda nervous I been at fedex on and off for 6 years, lol. (With other jobs in between, of course) but I always came back, lol . It's been different lately and has gotten a bit better, but I feel like I worked harder for a minute. I run 4 doors, scan ICs , put in the truck, and load them ,sometimes more . And we do wrap up 2 trucks 4 hours in usually. Its just me and another person . We get help sometimes . But personally speaking i just felt like because I can work hard i kinda let them work me . I didnt mind the work but I didnt see many ppl handling the volume I was . I never said anything cause I never felt like I had to. That's why we have a manager walking around right , to see where they need help at. Definitely gonna be nice to put this place up for a bit hopefully lol. I figured if I can load trucks for 5 years I can do anything lol.

Greetings from the UK

The fact that you guys in the US have loaders and shelves in the van is something I wish we had. We get in, sort the route ourselves in a space no bigger than your mums spare box room. These are our bays (no ones in yet besides me) and our vans are privately owned mostly sprinter vans with no shelves. Most are doing 70-140 stops a day including collections.

Package Handler - Ear Protection?

So… the warehouse is crazy loud and I get not wearing ear buds or something because of being distracted. But are you allowed to wear any kind of hearing protection?

How bad are Amazon drivers on your routes?

For me they drive on the wrong sides of the road, almost ran me over once, double park on handicap signs etc… Surprising since for us at Express we’d get written up or fired for this type of stuff.

Question about the DRO

Is there anyway my contractor can have control over his dro(dumbass route organizer)? Because lately it’s been screwing over our routes and it’s really starting to irritate a lot of drivers. I typically have an in town route with 130-140 stops and so does the other route that does the other side of town. Today it gave me 100 stops from bumfuck to bumfuck and about 200 miles round trip. The other guy got completely fucked with 170 stops in town in our tiny white rentals. The last contractor I worked for controlled his route and didn’t let the dro decide. How do I explain that to my new contractor?

5 Year Safety Award

Found this old watch while cleaning out my closet. I haven't seen this in like 15 years or so. My terminal stopped giving out awards like this a long time ago. So sad.

Backing out last minute before my orientation

I just got off the phone with someone regarding my application. At first, they told me that they only had an overnight shift and some days that I applied for (I wanted weekdays in the morning). But they only had Wed-Sunday from 11pm-4am. I stupidly said yes because I am desperate to get into a job. But I realize that the times might be harder to manage with my situation. I tried calling them regarding the offer but the lines keep saying they are busy. My orientation is in 8 days.

Should I just not go? Should I call them and tell them I no longer want the offer? Would this mark me as unreliable and unable to reapply to other fedex's?

Please be nice, ik it was stupid to accept when I should've said no but I was kind of desperate in that moment.

These assholes literally made a grown man cry.

Context, the guy had never had a job like this before, nor had he ever driven a fedex truck, his FIRST WEEK they gave him fucking 86 stops! Dude It was taking me 10 hrs or more JUST to do between 40 or 50 my first week till I started getting good enough to do over 100 in a decent time, they just tossed the guy into the wolfs witg literally no fucking help, I don't even blame him from breaking down like that.
