Do you mind sharing your budget for Halloween candy?

Assume a neighborhood with medium to medium high volume of kids. (Not the tower district!).

Also, how much candy do you hand out per child?

ETA: I'm fighting off the impulse to buy way more candy than I probably need. Somebody talk.me down.

ETA: I mean, you need to understand that the last of my Christmas 2026 shopping was completed maybe April 2026. At lastest. Now you understand me.

Asking for resources for a homeless woman and her two chihuahuas.

ETA: I'm pretty sure she is not clean, if that makes a difference.

She was living in her boyfriend's car with the Chihuahuas and he appears to have ghosted her. She's got her dogs and her stuff on the neighbor's lawn now. She does not have a car. I don't know if she has a cell phone. I assume she has nowhere to stay. I'm at work now and so I can't ask her.

Any ideas?

Quiche without a crust is called "frittata", not "crustless quiche"...

Jesus wept.

(I chose the tag "for bot use only". I'm not a bot but I thought it was amusing and no other tag fit.)

The time is now!

(I wanted to be dramatic, lol)

Seriously, though, last year I distinctly remember some poster asking where to find cheap but cute Halloween decorations in thrift stores.

GO THEE FORTH!!!!

The time is now.

Well done E. Stuart yard sale people...

Excellent marketing, I must say.

ETA: okay, just to warn everyone, this yard sale was totally lame.

This is the turtle lady

I couldn't get a good shot.

She was just hawking her turtles on the corner of Shaw and Marks.

She's a middle aged Mexican lady with a long ponytail, glasses, and a wheeled cooler. Please do not buy her turtles as they are not fit to live in the cages she sells, they grow big and need expensive and specialized equipment, and they cannot be released into the wild because they are an invasive species. It's also a federal and state crime to sell them.

Seriously, though: the sky looks like several snowy white atomic bombs just exploded.

Sadly, no pics (I'm driving) but feel free to post your own pics below.
