Red slider turtle lady seen today trying to sell her turtles around Shaw/Marks.

Please don't buy from her. The turtles are not healthy, they grow large and need special equipment and tanks (she won't tell you that) and they cannot be released into the wild because they're an invasive species.

If a therapist says a patient has "borderline schizophrenia", what does that mean?

Is "borderline schizophrenia" an official diagnosis? Does it mean, having traits of BPD and traits of schizophrenia? Does it mean the person almost meets the diagnostic criteria but not quite? Does it mean the therapist is still trying to figure out whether the patient is schizophrenic? Or...

Assume I can't just ask this person directly what they meant.

I don't know if anyone has posted about this, but they're apparently planning to take down the rainforest exhibit at the Chaffee Zoo.

Is there anywhere in town that hands out physical copies of the CA Driver's Handbook?

As far as I know, the DMV only has it available online.

I think he used to live in the foothills. It might have been a family band. They played all kinds of instruments and used to tour the local high schools for educational purposes. Any idea what the name of the guy or the name of the band could have been?

I remember them playing songs like:

Dee greene cousine

Strange affair

We don't need the men

TLDR at the bottom.

I''m not in therapy at the moment. I do see a psychiatrist for meds. But in the past I've found myself curating what info I present (both to therapists and to psychiatrists). For example, I've obtained a gun in case I should ever need to commit suicide. I've hidden suicide attempts, i've hidden self harm. In all fairness to me, I have pretty good reasons for doing so. In my experience, my therapist was unsupportive in times of crisis, and EMS/the crisis center equally so. My impression is that the police look down on unsuccessful suicide attempters and involuntary hospitalisation is designed to move people out of there as fast as possible. Neither are helpful. Therapy should have been helpful but wasn't. In the end, I resigned to the fact that there are certain things you just can't tell therapists. I mean, I tried, but I feel I was shut down every time and eventually I gave up.

TLDR: does anyone else feel like they can't be real with there therapist/psychiatrist, but that you need to keep the facade because you need what little help they do give you? (in the case of my psychiatrist, this is meds).

ETA: I should add that I don't have money for therapy and perhaps even meds/continuing to see my psychiatrist. Please refrain from advising me to give therapy another try. It's not an option at this point.

Not sure if this is newsworthy, but I just called EMS for what I considered to be a person in an emergency situation. Dispatch was helpful and police showed up within minutes.

I don't know if this type of post is allowed, but an acquaintance of mine recently got a very young kitten that she's been caring for for a few weeks. I would estimate the kitten is 5 weeks old and she's had it for 2-3 weeks. I don't know. It's very young and it cries constantly. The kitten's health seems to be rapidly deteriorating. I don't know why. She has no money for a vet or to put the cat to sleep if that should be necessary. She's afraid it's dying. She's also mentally disabled, so I'm trying to look for resources for her.

I was told the Fresno Animal Center accepts surrenders, but it's closed today. I tried posting on the animal rescue groups on Facebook. I don't know much more about the situation than this. If you can help or know who to contact for help, please DM me. The cat owner seems ready to surrender her pet if necessary.

This may be the wrong subreddit to ask, but I was wondering if I called the police to report a late night disturbance in my neighborhood, would the police insist on interviewing me? Is it possible to report anonymously? If the police came and wanted to talk to me, would I have the right to refuse to speak to them about the incident? What if the people I'm reporting are my housemates? I would be reporting them for loud yelling and arguing inside and outside of the house in the early hours of the morning. Also, does anyone know what law(s) are being violated in my example. Say, the disturbance goes on for like 20 min. ETA: also: would it make any difference if the disturbance happened during the day versus in the early hours of the morning? Also, is the landlord likely to get in trouble if there was a police report?

Thanks in advance.
