I'm starting to have feelings for someone who isn't emotionally available...

So I've been talking to this guy for a while... He's charming, soft, caring, and a sweet heart. We have had some mishaps but he and I always work it out. Thing is... he has been through a lot with his ex and although its been a few years, he's still going through a healing process as it has affected many aspects of his life. Well I'm starting to have feelings for him and he's made it clear he's not ready to get into all of that but that he likes me. How should I move going foward? I want to go with his flow but I'm scared I'll overstep in some way and he'll get turned off. What should i do?
