Anyone successfully treating active FA and using skincare products that are not 100% FA safe. I'm trying but it's really hard.

Anyone treating FA and using skincare that is not 100% FA safe?

I am asking because I cannot find a tinted sunscreen that is FA safe and does not have too many silicones. I have acne and FA. My skin is acne-prone, get breakouts very easily, and super sensitive.

For example, Cetaphil tinted SPF is FA safe, but it has Benzyl Alcohol as the second ingredient, and my skin just cannot tolerate it!

Colorscience sunscreens is full of silicones, 7 of them. I tried it, and I got a painful cyst:(

I've found a tinted sunscreens that I like, but it has three ingredients that are not FA safe - Polysorbate 60, Glyceryl Oleate, and Isopropyl Palmitate, according to various Apps checkers.

If you're treating FA and using skincare that is not 100% FA safe, do you feel your FA treatment is working well? if so, what are you using to treat FA?

To make things even more fun, skin cannot tolerate alcohol, alcohol dent., essential oils, fragrance/perfume, and too many plant/botanical extracts.

Moisturizer with 5% Urea -What's been your experience? Would it be irritating?

Urea is good for hydration, and I'm a bit hesitant because some people complain that a moisturizer with 5% urea burn their skin.

I am also thinking that the 5% Urea moisturizer's gentleness may be depend on the formulation and quality of the moisturizer.

Could you share your experience with moisturizer that have 5% urea.

I have Rosace plus recently developed some fungal acne, FA, so I need moisturizers that won't aggravate the FA.

Serum 10 skinceuticals. Vit C for sensitive skin. What’s your experience? Any Vit C serum rec?

I want to introduce a Vit C to my skincare routine. The Serum 10 from SC is supposed to be for sensitive skin. I like that it has minimal ingredients.

Has anyone try it? And if anyone tried both the C E Feluric 15% l-ascorbic acid. What’s the main difference? Which one works better? Is the serum 10 really more gentle? It’s only 5% less ascorbic acid.

Anyone here tolerates 15% l-ascorbic acid? Or it has something that needs to work out with lower %?

If you have a fav Vit C, which one is it? I’m looking for Vit C serum with ascorbic acid.

I prefer something with thin consistency and fast absorption.

Skinceuticals serum 10. Yes or pass?

I like simple VIt C serums.

Has anyone tried this SC serum 10 ? What was your experience?

It looks simple, minimalistic, no clogging ingredients, and no alcohol.

If u have a rec for Vit c serum that would be great too.

What would be the main difference between high end Vit C serum with l-ascorbic acid and low-end serums (assuming both have -l-ascorbic acid at the same %)

What's been your experience with Super Sensa and, or Cetaphil water gel?

I don't have any moisturizer and need to decide which one to get super soon.

I know YMMV is real. If you have used Super Sensa and, or Cetaphil water gel, what's been your experience with it?

skin is combo not dry and somehow oily t-zone. Acne prone too.

I know squalane is FA safe. My only concern with Super Sensa is that Squalane is the second ingredient so I wonder if it would be too much oil to breakout or clog the skin.

Reading reviews on skinsort, I notice that some user say Super Sensa is not hydrating enough. If you use Super Sensa, do you apply a serum before Super Sensa. If you do, which specific Serum do you use?

Cetaphil water gel has Dimethicone as the 3rd ingredient. Dimethicone is FA safe and noncomedogenic. Dimethicone is occlusive so I wonder if this will clog the skin or cause breakouts. My skin is prone to acne.

Do you use a serum before applying Cetaphil water gel? if you do, which specific serum?

Need a face cleanser rec. I've tried many. Which one is your HG cleanser?

I'm looking for an every day face cleanser. Skin combo normal (not dry) and t-zone somehow oily (not too much) I look for cleanser that can help with my combo skin and not be too drying. I need a cleanser that won't clog my skin or cause breakouts.

I've tried:

Vanicream - feels drying (not too much but still)

Cetaphil fragrance free - feels drying

Prequel Glenser - I don't like the residual layer and too much glycerin for me

Drunk elephant No. 9 - I think it made my t-zone a bit more oily

Obagi gentle cleanser - it made my skin dry

Skinceutical gentle cleanser - irritating for me

Untoxicated - it felt irritating

Please share with me which face cleanser is your HG.

--KraveBeauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser. Has anyone tried this one? It has Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil so I wonder if this ingredient will most likely cause allergies?

--Dieux Baptism gel cleanser fragrance free . Has anyone tried this one? it seems simple, but I wonder.

Super Sensa Moisturizer. Would adding a serum with this moisturizer work? or better to skip?

Combination skin - oily on the forehead and nose only. Other areas of the skin are normal (not dry). Summer time is humid and warm/hot, which means AC when indoors where I spend most of my time.

I found this moisturizer and I like it. I wonder if adding a serum would work.

The serum's ingredients are: Water, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Adenosine, Tromethamine, Sodium PCA, Carbomer, Beta-Glucan, Sodium Polyacrylate.

I do not like HA so please don't recommend any serums with this ingredient.

For PM, what would be better serum + super sensa moisturizer or skip serum?

I like minimum skincare.

The serum is hydrating and the moisturizer is hydrating so I don't want to add too many hydrating ingredients when I have an AC constantly running when indoors where I spend most of my time. But I may be wrong so I need to ask. What do you guys think?

If it helps here are the ingredients of the super sensa moisturizer: Water (Aqua), Squalane*, Propanediol**, Panthenol, Ectoin, Glyceryl Glucoside, Betaine, Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Trehalose, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-40, Polyglutamic Acid, 1,2-Hexanediol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Inulin, Tremella Fuciformis Sporocarp (Silver Ear Mushroom) Extract, Tocopherol***, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide, Dimethylmethoxy Chromanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium DNA, Acetyl Heptapeptide-4, Sodium Phytate.

Clindamycin - what's been your experience? how long did you use to avoid developing anti-biotic resistance?

Have a prescription of Clindamycin. I keep reading that is not recommended to use it alone. It's usually paired with benzoyl peroxide, which is too irritating for me.

If anyone has used Clindamycin, how long did you use it for? did you use something else to prevent bacteria resistance?

Tinted sunscreens. Colorscience Face shield VS Cetaphil tinted

Both are FA safe. I used 3 different Apps skinsort, sezia, scoutfolliculitus.

Which one do you guys prefer Colorscience vs Cetaphil. The Colorscience is more expensive, but given that sunscreen is so important for me, I'm willing to safe on other products and get this one. Of course, only if colorscience is worth it. So could you guys share your experience with these sunscreens?

My skin is ok with niacinamide which colorscience has.

If you can tell me if you're actively treating FA, or if your FA is under control when using these sunscreens.

Cetaphil has Benzyl Alcohol, which could be irritating. How is your skin tolerating it?

Rec for tinted sunscreen that is light and does not clog the skin.

Skin is normal, not dry and not oily at all. Rosacea skin so I cannot use Alcohols, fragrance, essential oils. Mineral or chemical sunscreens is ok.

I'm ok with some silicones but not too many.

I'm looking for a light feeling sunscreen that doesn't just sits on top of the skin.

Preferable the tint is light or light to medium. The tints that are darker or have orange undertones do not go with my skin.

Normal skin and mild to moderate acne. Get some but not many bumps with inflammation.

Doc 1 - said PM Adapalene .3% and AM apply Clindamycin in the morning to whole face.

Doc 2 - said PM Adapalene .1% and AM wash with a Benzoyl Peroxide 4% face wash on the affected areas only.

so afraid of using Clindamycin because the bacteria creates resistance so not used. The Adapalene .3% was too much for skin so stop using it.

Now, the option is Adapalne .1% and benzoyl peroxide 4% face wash.

Would washing face with benzoyl peroxide on the affected areas only solve the new breakouts that will be coming when starting Adapalene?

Is there other OTC treatment to resolve the new breakouts.

I worry that I'll get more bumps with inflammation and then the face wash would not be enough to solve them.

I'm thinking applying Benzoyl Peroxide as overnight treatment, but not sure if that would be enough.

What does anyone do to treat new breakouts, the purge, while starting Adapalne?

Skin is normal type with mild to moderate acne. Usually get some but not many red bumps that get inflammation and then form a whitehead.

Now starting Adapalene 1% and trying to figure out the spot treatment to use.

What spot treatments have anyone used when getting more bumps or pimples while using Adapalene ?

I know that at the beginning of using Adapalene, more breakouts start to show. And, the acne gets worse before getting better.

When starting Adapalene, is it common for a new breakout to get inflammation?

I'm trying to figure out if the acne bacteria would come to the surface in the form of new breakouts that get inflammation easily?

If a new breakout and no spot treatment used, would this breakout resolve on its own?

What was your experience with Adapalene?
