I am visibly disabled, and I have avoided posting video on social media. But I’m starting an online tarot business and involved in some advocacy groups that have me having to reconsider.

I have a year-before-last iPhone. How do I set it up to take basic, talking-to-the-camera videos? What kind of tripod do I need, if any? Do I need a mic attacked?

Genuinely, pretend I’m Amish or something. I have posted one video on TikTok when they had that “your dog’s view” filter, and I just filmed some of her toys and things to see what stood out. Not sure I even posted it.

I’vve been skeptical about Andrew Dykes’ss arrest, and I still am, but one thing that got to me was the distance. Why bother such far away dumpsites. It’s extra cruel for a father to leave his baby so far from her mother.

However, I spent this weekend learning about the case of Karlie Pearce-Stevenson and Khandalyce Pearce. Both single mothers with a young child (and alliterative names!). Karlie was twenty; Khandalyce was about eighteen months (her DOD exactly is unknown). Karlie was found as a Jane Doe in Belanglo State Forest (Yes, where Milat left his victims) in 2010. Her remains were partially burnt due to a controlled burn in the area, and due to a t-shirt that said “Angelic” she became the Angel of Belanglo.

In 2015, a suitcase was found holding children’s clothes, and remains of toddler who’d been visibly suffocated. It was in such a remote area that it had been out there since 2008 .Her identity was found via the hand-stitch quilt that was her only handmade/non-identifiable ibelonging. Through her, Karlie was discovered. They hadn’t been registered with Missing Persons, because the jackass who invited Karlie to travel with him and “show Khandle Australia” kept texting the family to ask for money, and fraudulently collecting her benefits. The whole story is in a book called “The Lost Girls” (another similarity I guess.) by Ava Benny-Morrison.

Like I said, the perp was a loser. He was cheating on his longterm partner who was in the hospital recovering from a car accident that killed two of her three children. Later, she was part of the fraud, but he was very much the villain of the piece. He later assaulted a nine-year-old.

He did kill the baby a few days after Karlie; telling the family he’d been staying with that Karlie had run off and he was taking the baby to her grandparents. Karlie’s mother died never knowing what happened to her girls.

So. Different circumstances, but it does make me reconsider that part.
