Weaponisaton of Rules and Regulations

Bihar Fire Services conducted a fire safety audit of Khan Global Studies, the coaching centre of educator Khan Sir, and found multiple deficiencies, such as a lack of fire alarm and fire pump. The centre has been given a week to remove the shortcomings. "If compliance is not ensured, the coaching institute will certainly face sealing action," an official said.

Prof. Juzer Vasi (IIT-B) got the Padma Shri. Who are the legendary professors on our campus who deserve this kind of recognition?

Mechanical Seniors: Are you actually happy or just "well-placed"?

Hey everyone,

I’m a Mechanical Engineering student at NIT Raipur entering my 2nd year. I’m trying to decide my path: SDE/Tech roles or Core/GATE for PSUs.

I’ve checked our latest placement report: Avg is \~9.93 LPA with a 94.68% placement rate. While Core is stable, the Tech packages (30LPA+) are very tempting.

I’d love to hear from Mechanical seniors/graduates:

Your Sector & Role: Are you in Core (Auto, Energy, etc.) or did you pivot to Tech/Analytics?

Lifestyle & Pay: What is the work environment like (plant vs. office)? Is the pay growth as slow in Core as people say?

Advice: If you wanted a decent pay + good lifestyle, which path would you choose if you were in my place today?

Currently: I'm learning CAD (SolidWorks/Creo) and C++ during my summer break to keep both doors open.

Core mechanical engineers!! What are y'all doing now?

Hi , I wanna know about people who made it into core mechanical jobs (psus/private /R D/manufacturing etc)

What was your cgpa?

Which NIT or any clg were you from?

What skills/projects/software helped you the most?

Did you get placed through campus placements or through GATE?

If through GATE, what was your rank?

What companies did you get into?

What was your starting package/lpa ?

How is your life now honestly work culture, stress, work life balance, satisfaction, etc?

it feels like everyone in mech either switches to IT or prepares for something else, so I want to hear from people who stayed in core and how things turned out for them.
