New AP Boutique Experience – Normal Hospitality or Potential Buying Opportunity?

Hey everyone,

I recently visited the newly opened Audemars Piguet boutique with my girlfriend, just a couple of days after opening.

At first, we were given a tour of the boutique and an introduction to the store concept. After the tour, we were actually planning to leave and even mentioned that we were not looking to purchase a watch, but the staff still very kindly insisted that we stay and speak with a sales associate.

We then sat down individually with a sales associate, and several watches were presented to us in more detail, including a 2026 Diver, a blue Royal Oak Chronograph, and a Code 11.59. I was given detailed information about the pieces and was also allowed to try them on.

During the conversation, we were told that certain models were available for purchase, although they didn’t specify exactly which ones.

I’m curious how people with AP experience would interpret this. Is this normal hospitality during a new boutique opening, or does it sound like active relationship building / qualification of potential future clients or even an opportunity to take one on the spot?

Would love to hear similar experiences or opinions.

Vietnamese Watchstore 4500$

Found these two vintage Rolex Datejust models while traveling through Vietnam.
One appears to be a steel Datejust on a Jubilee bracelet, the other a two-tone model on leather.
The shop is asking around $4500 for both.
I thought the aging and overall look were interesting, especially the patina and condition differences between the two pieces.
I’d be curious to hear opinions on:
-whether the pricing seems realistic for pieces in this condition
-possible reference numbers (6013 I was told in store)
-and what details stand out to experienced vintage collectors
Unfortunately I only had time to take a few quick photos.
