Out of the loop: Selling platforms

hi, I am a bit out of the loop with the community as I was last involved with this fashion ~10 years ago. I have about 15 dresses from AP + BTSSB in storage plus accessories, haven’t been having much luck with eBay (in Sold history it looks like a dress sells there once a month?).

Do people just list on depop these days? and where do you go for genuine (not self interested) value estimates? I used to be on cgl at the time which i got good buy/sell estimates from but I’m a bit against the website its hosted on as a whole.

Remember when iPads were cool?

they are just for babies now. I remember thinking they were supposed to be really convenient for taking notes on campus or out and about as a girl boss, light weight and slips into your tote. but I think everyone defaults to laptops now, if you came to class with an iPad instead of a laptop you’d probably look poor and under prepared.

can’t imagine what I’d use them for now, I’ve got one that hasn’t been charged in two years, maybe turn it into an e-reader

▲ 2 r/Natto

Natto beans a little orange on the seams of the beans?

this is hour 20, normally I let it go the full 24 hrs before opening but I had a fail batch last time so wanted to check in. This is my 3rd batch

375 g Wei-chuan organic soybeans - soaked overnight in RO water, used fresh water to just cover them in an instant pot for 30 min in RO water, natural release 10 min.

0.2 g kawashima natto starter, dissolved in 20 ml hot bean water, poured back into natto beans and left for the past 20 hrs on the yogurt setting like usual.

it is stringy but smells fine, any chance Serratia marcescens got in there and started to flourish? I heard it’s ubiquitous in tap water.

You’d think employers by now would be able to use their imagination to conceptualise how an employment gap is not any solid indication a poor candidate

If you are HR, let me show you some examples:

- a “gap year” you saved up for

- illness/cancer/injury

- bust in your field of expertise (its a boom now because you’re hiring, nice!)

- having a baby and finding it cheaper to stay home

- carer for a loved one

- wanting a break from high pressure of being in a startup/meat grinder by doing something easy like barista for a bit (more efficient and cheaper for you than your “Wellbeing program”)

- self-employed and it fell through

see? nothing to do with delinquency or laziness. I think a better indicator may be their job reference and criminal history. Can you forget this metric now? Its about as meaningful as asking a hiker why they took a pause on their trek. Did he forget to walk all of a sudden? Who cares? Hope that makes sense.

1994 Kitchenaid Pasta Maker Guide with Recipes!

In the event you find one of these attachments and don't know how to use it, here's the guide. Recipes start on page 8 and 19.

What I love about these "vintage" recipes is they are super simple. To fit the last recipe in I had to scan the 2nd last image in two.

The list of recipes below.

Pastas:

  • - Basic Egg Noodle Pasta
  • - Spinach Pasta
  • - Whole Wheat Pasta
  • - Guidance in cooking the pastas
  • - Marinara Sauce
  • - Cheese Ravioli
  • - Chicken Noodle Amandine
  • - Tossed Macaroni
  • - Zucchini sauce
  • - Noodles with White Clam Sauce
  • - Pasta Primavera
  • - Cold Noodle and Bacon Salad
  • - Fettucine Alfredo
  • - Vegetable Lasagna

Food Grinder recipes

  • - Sausage Egg Strata
  • - Hot Chili Dip
  • - Chicken Liver Pate
  • - Moussaka
  • - Date Pinwheel Cookies

When I bought it, I didn't know there was another attachment that's supposed to be bought with it (a hopper and grinder body?) so unfortunately won't be able to give this one a go. What I got was the stomper + plates for cutting the pasta into shapes.

Kitchenaid Pamphlet circa 1994 - including cost price of Mixers and components at the time.

For those into archival stuff. Found in the box of a mixer attachment found at the thrift store. Unfortunately it was only one half of the attachment (the hopper was sold separately) so no review of that yet but thought you’d find it interesting too.
