Reading week first year

Hey! I am going into first year at Trent for business and history, and I have just been given an incredible opportunity. Trent’s reading week (October 24-31), overlaps with a friend of mines uni, and she has offered to pay for a trip to Disney for the both of us. This is a lifelong dream of mine (and a once in a lifetime chance to go for free), but I don’t know how much work I will have to do over the week, and am wondering if I’d be able to both. If anyone has advice I would really appreciate it!

Scholarship question

Hi! I’m going into my first year at Trent and just graduating highschool in Ontario today. I got my transcript and was really hoping for a 95% average in my top 6 to get free first year tuition, but I only got a 94.5. Do they round up? I’m disappointed in myself…thank you so much to anyone that knows the answer!

Courses not matching up

I have more than 3.5 credits planned but it’s saying there’s only 3.5 in my plan? Can anyone help with this? It’s happening for the winter term too.

Two wonderful experiences at Cedar Point compared to Canadas Wonderland

This was my first visit to Cedar Point ever coming from Toronto. I booked the trip over 19/06 not thinking about Juneteenth (because it’s not recognized in Canada) so I was really worried about the crowds, especially because wonderland can get REALLY busy on similar holidays

My Goal for the day was to get on Steel Vengeance and TT2…..

I got on every coaster in the park, and had some awesome experiences along the way.

Customer Service: STANDOUT. We paid for parking on 18/06 because it’s about 50$ Canadian at Canadas wonderland, we didn’t know it came with our seasons pass until Friday. The woman at the gate informed us and suggested we try and get a refund for the previous day. At Wonderland, this would’ve been a fight and an hour wait. Here, we walked right in and the woman at guest services was shocked that we had to pay for parking at our homepark! This was such a pleasant surprise and we got refunded for the previous day.

I had FLP, and waited about an hour for maverick. was my first time on Maverick (incredible btw), and as I was getting off, the gate broke in my row for the next group coming on. Instead of sending an empty row, I heard the best 6 words I’ve heard at a theme park. “Do you want to go again?”. This MADE MY DAY. At wonderland, they would’ve sent it empty. After this, the ride went down for the rest of the day. I felt like the luckiest person In the park.

The food: so much better than wonderland. No contest. If there’s anything Americans know how to do, it’s make a good chicken tender. The BBQ was Incredible too, and a really similar price to wonderland.

Wait times: since it was a holiday, fast lane was often full for the bigger rides, but the less popular ones were a walk on (Rougarou, Raptor, Corkscrew, blue streak, valraven). The only time I was “upset” about waiting was my second lap of TT2 around 8pm where I was moving slower than the standby line. Otherwise FLP got me on every single ride in the park before 8pm.

The wait times were very inaccurate, if you have fast lane on a day like this, DOUBLE whatever it says in the app. Fast lane was sometimes lined up around the ride, especially on maverick

Everyone was so kind. I was talking to a bunch of people around me in every line and I didn’t meet a SINGLE person actually from Ohio. If you want to meet other enthusiasts, this is the place. Operations seemed like they wanted to be there and were having fun (unlike wonderland). Crazy fast, too!

Bag situation: this is my only complaint about the park as a whole. Wonderland has these cubby systems that connect to the lift hill of rides, getting pulled above the station and into the exit. Here, the free lockers are great, but I HATE how you need to bring your fanny packs onto rides like Gatekeeper and Valravn. I’m so accustomed to B&M dives and inverts being no loose articles. Kinda ruined the experience because I was always gripping my bag. Seems hypocritical as well that you get wanded down on rides like Steel Vengeance, but have to bring everything on other rides. But that’s just because I’m paranoid of loosing my stuff, I should’ve just bought a locker in hindsight, but wonderland has both the cubbies and paid lockers.

Overall, this park truly felt like a vacation destination. Definitely a different vibe from wonderland. This trip made me realize how poorly designed and overcrowded wonderland is. I was so happy I was able to get on every single coaster in the park In 10 hours. I got really lucky getting on maverick twice, and I can’t wait to come back. If this is your home park, know how lucky you are, and try and make it to alpenfury sometime!

Also, I didn’t stay in a cedar point hotel, so this was without ERT!!

Thanks for reading! Steel Vengeance is PERFECTION!! Sorry for any spelling errors

Coming to CP tomorrow

Hey!! I’m an enthusiast coming from Canada and I can’t wait to see the park for the first time. I’m coming Thursday night to scope the park out and know where I’m going for my 12 hour day on Friday (with fast lane plus). Where should I eat? What are your directional tips? Im super excited and just want to talk to someone who’s been there about it (bc nobody has been where I live, obviously) anyways im thrilled! Thank you 😁

Please help!

Hey! I’m have a question that I’m hoping you guys could answer. I bought two gold Midwest canadas wonderland seasons passes for myself and my dad because we plan to go to Cedar Point next week. We have had these passes for awhile and have been to Canadas wondered (our home park) several times with these. Six flags policy is that you need to visit your home park at least once before going to an outside park. However, my app says that we are not affiliated with a home park and have zero visits, even though I certainly did that when I purchased them and we have visited multiple times. It even says my dad’s past has not been activated. I’ve called and left a message at Six flags, Cedar point, and Canadas wonderland. I’ve entered a help ticket, and e-mailed. I’d really appreciate it if you could give me the right person to talk to or if you could help me because I’m really starting to freak out!!! Thank you so much
