My name is Chris.

I was an alcoholic between the years of 2017 and 2024. Without getting all "Holier Than Thou", yes ultimately turning to God and having Faith is what eventually lead me to sobriety, but that isn't why I am here today.

A lot of other things contributed to that. The support and patience from my family and friends. Surprisingly one of the biggest contributors was falling in love with Tabletop Roleplaying Games like Dungeons and Dragons. I would create characters that had specific attributes related to my addiction and depression. Having those characters overcome those issues, actually helped me a lot.

That being said, October 19th will be my two year anniversary. I want to dedicate my life to help people who are suffering like I was suffering. Other than going back to school, another thing I wanted to do was start a ministry at my Church to help people.

I am hoping anyone here with the time, might be able to jump in here and share what has been working for you. Doesn't matter if you are recovered, on the journey to sobriety or in any stage in-between.

Anything that you all think might help others find salvation, please share, so I can utilize it in my ministry.

My name is Chris and I was born Catholic but have only recently truly accepted God into my heart. Sadly this faith was obtained through alcohol addiction.

God worked through my Mother, who prayed every night and found every opportunity to guide me to God. It worked. I eventually realized that I had a problem, and truly accepted God into my heart.

I have been going to church every Saturday or Sunday, and doing all the other fun stuff. Bible studying, praying, rosaries and especially enjoy doing the divine mercy. Sometimes I would go to a statue of Mother Mary and beg her to intercede for me. Honestly felt ashamed to directly ask God.

Eventually I was given the strength to quit. Cold turkey. Even though I know that chances are I would suffer a lot as a result. October 19th 2024 was when I began my journey to a life of sobriety. Craziest thing happened.....God took it away. The cravings, the voice in the back of my head to take another drink. All gone. That isn't to say I didn't suffer at all, but I had my family there to support me!

Not everyone is that lucky though. To realize they need to have faith and God will bring them salvation and not everyone has a family that will step up like mine.

With my new found faith and dedication to God, it eventually lead me to the realization that I want to dedicate my life to helping those who are suffering like I was. I have the support of my local priest and I am looking to start a ministry.

That is where you all can come in to help me. Especially those who may have also overcome addiction. What helped? I'm looking for different methods and materials I can use to integrate into my ministry. Or heck, if any of you have advice on how to start a ministry feel free to share! I know going through the Gospel of Matthew helped a lot, but any passage suggestions are also welcomed!

Like the title suggests, I literally just purchased my first Samsung Galaxy Tab! I went with the S11 Ultra and it just arrived in the mail.

I mostly got it for when I go back to college, so, studying and note taking essentially.

So far I absolutely love the tablet but I could use some suggestions on accessories.

I was hoping to get one of those screen protectors that feels kind of like paper and I heard there's a nib you can get for the pen that really makes it feel like paper. But what are trustworthy brands to get?

Also, what would be a good case to get. Maybe something that'll also let me use a keyboard? A little worried about potential keyboards though, I find most laptop keyboards to be dreadful and it looks like tablet ones are similar?

I've never owned a tablet before, and this one was expensive! So I am really hoping to get some help to keep it safe and to make it productive.

Hopefully a quick question.

I got a Master Card Gift Card for my birthday and I was hoping to grab a copy of Cthulhu Deep Green and Cthulhu Hack: Conditions.........however apparently DriveThruRPG doesn't accept Master Card Giftcards?

I get declined on DriveThruRPG and on the Mastercard website it gives me this "Declined - Security Policy". Does anyone know how to resolve this? I've never stumbled on a website that declines giftcards before.

EDIT: If anyone has issues making a purchase on DriveThruRPG, make the purchase on their Legacy Website, that works.

Not too long ago I made another post in this subreddit, so I could figure out which rules-lite lovecraftian game I was going to get.

Cthulhu Dark got me very interested but I quickly realized I could only get the PDF?

But then I stumbled on Indie Press Revolution, who apparently has copies of Cthulhu Dark.

Is this website trustworthy? How's the print quality?

Wanted to ask here before I placed the order 🙏
