Constellation Mk V vs RSI Galaxy

The Constellation Mk IV Andromeda is 63 meters long, and the Constellation Mk V Centaurus is 82.5 meters; that represents a 33.06% increase in size.

I hope the RSI Galaxy gets a size increase of at least 15% to 20%. If it could feature an XS hangar and a cargo capacity exceeding 512 SCU, maybe a 50% (768 SCU) or even 100% (1024 SCU) boost—that would be amazing. Plus, looking at the concept art, a built-in cargo crane or overhead tractor beam system is absolutely essential to manage those massive containers efficiently.

Man, this is the ship for the IAE 2026 event; it really needs to impress. Just look at the size of the person in images 2 and 3; it’s clear there has to be some change.

Regarding the medical module: I know there will be Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 options, but man, having at least a Tier 3 station on the ship itself, and perhaps reserving the dedicated medical module for Tier 2 and Tier 1, would be really good.

As for the refinery module, just having enough space to fit a Prospector and two or three Golem would be excellent, too.

CIG is in a position to deliver what could be one of the best ships in the game for industry and modularity (enough with the combat ships; the game already has plenty). They just need to upscale the ship, upgrade the hangar to XS standard, and beef up the modules.

What if the Galaxy was actually larger? How scaling it up changes the hangar game

We all know CIG’s metric system has a massive dead zone between XXS (16x12m) and XS (32x24m) landing pads. Because of this, our concept-size Galaxy (110m) is basically stuck carrying just a Pisces or small snubs

I wanted to visualize what happens if the Galaxy grew linearly by adding +5% of its base hull size per tier (adding +5.5m each step, reaching +25% on the final version)

The Grid Layout:

  • Top Row (Factory References): Carrack (126.5m) | Ironclad (120m w/ a Prospector on top) | Polaris (166m).
  • Middle Row: Galaxy 1 (Base 110m) | Galaxy 3 (+10% / 121m) | Galaxy 5 (+20% / 132m).
  • Bottom Row: Galaxy 2 (+5% / 115.5m) | Galaxy 4 (+15% / 126.5m) | Galaxy 6 (+25% / 137.5m).

I paired each iteration with a specific ship at the back to test the visual limits:

  • Galaxy 1: C8 Pisces (Standard XXS fit).
  • Galaxy 2: Drake Golem OX.
  • Galaxy 3: L-31 Wolf.
  • Galaxy 4: Drake Buccaneer.
  • Galaxy 5: Anvil Terrapin.
  • Galaxy 6: MISC Prospector.

this is where the concept falls apart for me. Look at the Ironclad at the top, at just 120m, Drake managed to make it fit a whole MISC Prospector inside. Meanwhile, the Galaxy needs to balloon into a massive 137m sub-capital behemoth (Galaxy 6) just to get anywhere near that utility. If CIG actually stopped holding back and upscaled the hull to 137m, how should they fix the interior?

More modules or bigger modules? Instead of just one massive, stretched-out refinery module, could a 137m Galaxy house two standard modules simultaneously (Refinery + Cargo)?

Did CIG miss the mark? Did they artificially bottleneck the Galaxy's size just so it wouldn't compete with larger industrial platforms, effectively making its solo refinery loops dead on arrival?

Do you agree or disagree with the current 110m concept? Do you think CIG will actually stick to the original plan and deliver exactly what's on paper, or is this ship bound to grow significantly once it hits the actual whitebox/pipeline stage to fix these exact issues?

What do you guys think? If the Galaxy actually grew to this size, how should CIG handle the extra room?

Galaxy solo gameplay

My main ship is going to be the RSI Galaxy, the plan is to own every module: cargo, medical, refinery, base-building, and manufacturing, and I’ll pick up any others that become available. My main question concerns the Galaxy's hangar: if the XXS size (16x12x6) is confirmed, or if the XS size (32x24x12), which is what I’m hoping for, is confirmed, those would determine the specific ships I’d own.

As I mentioned earlier, I intend to own only one LTI ship: the Galaxy.

My plan is to focus on solo gameplay. While I don't play the game entirely alone, if I need to play in a group, I’ll use my friends' ships, my own fleet will be built entirely around solo play
