Otter Scrubbing & Swimming
An otter swimming and scrubbing along between the two jetty in Moss Landing. In my experience, it's been the best place to catch an otter up close. Quality over quantity here haha.
Edit: Reddit compressed it so bad 😭

More photos I've taken at Moss Landing State Beach over the past few months. It's a really nice beach to walk along, probably my favorite for wildlife. On another note, please respect the wildlife there and stay on the road/trails.
Been traveling all over the county a lot this year. Here are some photos from the coast in order of South to North.
1 - Hurricane Point (View)
2 - Garrapata
3 - Ribera Beach
4 - Ribera Beach (Otter Tax)
5 - Asilomar
6 - Eolian Dunes
7 - Whale View Point
8 - Moss Landing State Beach
I found some old Salinas Californian newspapers from 1945 at a thrift store today. There were a few major events, but I only took home these two. The paper announcing the death of President Franklin D. Roosevelt & one announcing the end of World War II. Just thought to share some history of our local paper sharing history of the world.

Saw this guy in Moss Landing this morning coming out of the water & started scratching, shaking, & digging. Sea Otters really are the dogs of the sea, aren't they? :p
Went to Toro Park a few times this week & started taking paths I had not walked yet. Never really hit me as to how big the park is & how far in it goes haha. Here are some shots I took this week of the birds & bugs I encountered with the added bonus of finding an angry looking snake. Enjoy!
I saw two adorable otters on Sunday, this one was scrubbing and getting ready to nap. Snapped at the right time to get that expression haha. The other one was happily munching away on some kind of seaweed.
A short clip of a cute otter I saw scrubbing before going to in the seaweed. Had to stabilize the video & remove audio in post because it was windy lol. I'll post some photos later.
An acquaintance gave me an old HP laptop to check if it still worked. The thing has been sitting in a closet somewhere for decades and it looked brand new. Only issue was the battery is dead dead, but it ran so smoothly, I thought it had an SSD in it. The user name was "Solitaire" with no password & nothing on it. This was someone's "Solitaire Machine" hahaha. First thing I did was open up Space Cadet; haven't played that in 20yrs... 🥲
A short video I took of a cute otter taking a nap & trying to get comfortable on the beach.
Photos of various wildlife I've taken at Toro Park over the past few months. I really slept on coming here and exploring the trails for years haha. I've only ever gone there for picnics & gatherings. Definitely recommend the hike.
