Recently picked up an aluminum plate to replace a warped phenolic plate. Came with some magnets to “secure plate” to table.
Google has been of no use. Reached out to source, but given it’s the weekend, thought I’d try here.
Only thing I can think of is that the magnets are supposed to be added to holes drilled in the table’s rabbet that correspond to the leveling set screw locations.
If this is correct, wondering if that would be secure enough to keep plate from moving (there is a tiny bit of play between the table and plate). since I have to drill the aluminum plate for router mounting holes anyway, I had planned on removing the cam locks from the phenolic plate and drilling the aluminum plate to use those.
The phenolic plate was a non standard 9x12, so there weren’t a lot of options available without replacing the entire table top
750 miles each way to knock out some projects for my kids and a stop on the way home to pick up a new PTAC unit to replace the 17 year old unit in my detached garage/workshop. PTAC is where assorted project materials were on drive up.
One copilot refuses to lie down on the job
202k miles and 26 mpg each way loaded with ladders, compressor, mitre saw, floor jack, jack stands, and other assorted tools and stuff.
🤞last vehicle this 60 year old ever owns, because no idea how it can be replaced
Worst copilots ever. 750 miles and never offered to drive
I did get 26 mpg - ‘09 2wd auto with 201k
Just ordered 4 sets of the Bessey H feet for 3/4”
Initial use will be for 40” table top glue up
If I was going to purchase 2 10’ pipes and have cut and threaded (I know more than needed to begin with), 2 @ 4’ and 1 @ 2’ from each pipe seem like a good start, or some other combination? I know I’ll be able to use couplers for longer should the need arise.
Thanks

Wife likes the look of this table and wants me to make it for her. Looking at the plans in the issue, I am questioning whether or not the leg attachments will stand the test of time. I’m considering modifying the plans a bit to add a mechanical fastener (likely bolts and interior corner brackets) which will necessitate a tweak of the torsion box top.
Anyone build this table as per the plans than can comment on their level of satisfaction with the leg to top connections?
Thanks in advance.
Recently purchased this set to replace separate Dewalt drill bit and driver sets. Loved the cost and variety included, but when it arrived, I hated the way the case was laid out. Just spent some time rearranging things and thought I’d share in case anyone else picks one up and has the same issue re layout.
First couple pics are as it came and last couple are after rearranging
Hi, recently got a cyclone separator and after hooking things up, I’m getting essentially nothing in my shop vac, which is fantastic.
I’m thinking about cutting the entire bottom out the bucket the cyclone lid will be attached to and then sliding that into a second bucket. My thought is that then when it comes time to empty the sawdust etc, I can just slide the entire top bucket, with lid still attached, out and empty the bottom bucket. Eliminates the need to pry lid off for emptying, and also a few extra inches of capacity. Given what a pain in the butt it can be to separate two buckets at times, I don’t feel like there will be too much air leakage between the walls of the buckets.
Anyone try this?
Custom set of zebrawood racks and pushers. This isn’t a material I have used before, but so happy someone reached out and asked if I could make them a set using the “exotic” wood. Such a gorgeous material! No stain, just a satin polyurethane.
Replacing front calipers this weekend. If I clamp hoses prior to disconnecting old, is bleeding front calipers alone sufficient, or should I bleed entire system?
