Trans free blood tests in reading?

Hello, I’m a trans man, who has moved to the area recently.

My GP in Reading (University Medical Practice) have refused shared care with Pride in health and I can’t afford to get a new private hormone provider who is registered with the CQC, to comply with the requirement.

So I am looking for alternative options to try and get free blood tests to keep my costs down.

Does any fellow trans people in Reading know of any alternative options I could look into?

Thanks 🙏

Outed at the pharmacy

Hi I wanted to share an incident that happened to me today as I would like to seek advice about how to get pride in health to change the way they record gender and sex, if it even needs to be included when subscribing prescriptions.

So I went to pick up my T today from the pharmacy, and because they had no context, they saw my gender was female, they then changed all my records to match what the referral to say, so they put miss on the nhs system and female. I was absolutely horrified and said I am not happy about that and explained yes my birth sex is female but my legal gender is male from my gender recognition certificate which is not applicable to the recent changes surrounding single sex spaces. They changed it back when I reacted badly to it. I was really upset and horrified with the way I was marked on the system in pride in health on the referral and disappointed that a company that serves trans people, created a scenario I didn’t know I would walk into, by forcing myself to out myself and could have put me in danger of further discrimination. I have written a complaint email to them, and waiting for a response, recommending they do not mark my gender in this incorrect way.

Should I even write to an MP? I’m abit shaken up and scared of that happening again when I pick up my next prescription.

Why should we be in fear of picking up our prescription…

Thanks for reading and i welcome recommendation of how I can stop it happening again

Waiting for new birth certificate after 8 months of receiving a GRC

Hi all, I’m a trans man, and got my GRC about 8 months ago. I was told in the letter my birth certificate should be changed soon after however, it’s been 8 months and I’ve still not had it sent to me, which they are meant to still do legally with or without this stupid Supreme Court ruling. I know it doesn’t make a lot of difference but I think my true identity should be reflected on my birth certificate, and it makes me uncomfortable that the current birth certificate is incorrect still.

I’ve email the grc birth certificate department at the registry government office, no answer and sent 3 emails.

Does anyone know what’s going on? No one has stated I cannot have my birth certificate so I would like to sent to me hahahah!

Feeling quite depressed from the transphobia in government

Feeling generally down after the new guidance that was released the other day. I don’t see how it’s going to work. Apart of me hopes it’s just been written to appease to the gender critical cis women who pushed was this so badly.

As I thought the government would have been abit of aggressive in the aftermath, but I haven’t notice any changes even from my work place there has been no mention of it.

Anyone think this or totally disagrees with me?
