Hello, I'm new at this, would love to hear your stories

A week ago we took him to the vet, she didn't do any tests, and said he's fine just got the flu, and prescribed us antibiotics, even though he was in s rough condition, didn't eat, drink, couldn't even meow, but we took her words and we did a week of that medicine, he got worse and worse, yesterday I took him to another vet, he told me he couldnt keep his normal temperature, all of the tests came out bad, the blood sample showed that it's covid but the line was barely visible ( vet said well you can't be half pregnant) so it's covid, he was barely moving, couldn't even hear his meow, and he suggested we euthanize him because the medicine treatment would cost us 1k and there is slim to none chance it would help, in that moment i bursted out crying, he asked if i wanna see him one last time and be in the procedure I said no, because i just couldn't bear it, I havent took his remains also.. I feel immensely guilty that i havent been there for him, took the vet words and didnt tried to take him for second opinion on the state.. I feel like i killed him, now im just devastated and drinking myself second day in a row, please if you have anything to share I would love to hear, sorry I just needed to let someone know.
