was told gastric bypass instead of sleeve? Just wondering the pros and cons

Pretty self explanatory, just wondering why everyone chose gastric bypass over sleeve? Just considering my options at the moment

I feel like im finally on the right track after so many years

today I met with a new urogyn who reviewed my old pictures from my cystoscopy in may. He was the first person to spot ulcers in my bladder. My old urogyn missed them completely! I love my old urogyn but right now she’s not working in a practice with hospital privileges so I decided to take a chance on a new one.

He has a treatment plan for me, he’s pretty hopeful that I will make significant progress.

I’ve been doing intensive therapy and it’s helped me with my mental health so I can really finally take these wins.

For the first time in so long im genuinely hopeful

Am I the only who flares really bad on antihistamines??

I’ve been asking my doctors for two years why this happens and they can’t give me an explanation? Is this just a me thing? It’s legit ALL antihistamines from hydroxyzine, to Zyrtec, I broke out in hives really bad and had to take Benadryl and the flare is not fun smh. So confused because they’re supposed to help o_0

Attempting zepbound after flares with wegovy pray 4me

So I was on zepbound for several months last year with no issues, but I went off it in October then in November I had a bladder instillation which triggered my bladder into a tizzy where I get UTIs every few weeks and severe bladder pain when it used to be just urethral issues. So went on wegovy few weeks back, pain flared really bad and stopped it immediately. I ended up having a uti on top of the flare but still somewhat flaring even after the antibiotics cleared most of the issues (I know it may seem like it wasn’t a uti but since I have IC on top of chronic UTIs they were intermingled and I do feel a bit better after antibiotics just still having issues)

I have a bunch of meds to start so I wanted to begin those first before retrying the zepbound in a few weeks

I also read on here that injecting in ur thighs makes symptoms not as bad so I’ll definitely try that LOL

Anyway have a great week yall xx

Wegovy causing flare

I was on zepbound in 2025 i thought it flared me but it turned out to be my pudendal nerve blocks wearing off since i restarted it a few months later with no issues

I went off of zepbound in October 2025 because of insurance bs

Last week I started wegovy and I was kinda already in a bit of a flare when i started it and it’s just gotten worse

The problem is, I had missed a few doses of my birth control a week prior and started withdrawal bleeding pretty bad, so I paused it again for 5 days to let myself have a period. My period flares my pain pretty severely regardless so that was already messing me up (it’s continuous birth control with no placebos)

I also get UTIs pretty frequently and I dropped off a pcr and a culture just haven’t gotten the results back yet.

So it’s either the period, the wegovy, or a uti or all three

Reviews for wegovy seem pretty mixed on here, either it’s really helped or made things a lot worse so I wanted some opinions

Oral Valium

Anyone try Valium orally? I used to use the suppositories but i get UTIs very easy so i stopped. I asked my urogyn about trying it orally during flares

Yes im aware its a benzo and the risk associated with that but im not concerned about it

Elmiron?

So what are the facts because I see a lot of back and forth about it, my urogyn wants me to consider taking it but I’m not sure just yet. I don’t want to go blind but I’ve also read that those instances aren’t as common? Does anyone have any information on this?
