Traveling 8/11-8/25 to Bosnia, no plans or schedule

Hello - I am a single 36F with plans to travel to Bosnia on Tuesday (8/11). I was to meet a former work colleague who is a local resident in Tuzla and we were going to be traveling around together and make our way down to Split, where I was going to take the ferry to Ancona, Italy to visit another friend. Unfortunately, these plans have suddenly changed due to my colleagues' health and I am suddenly alone without anything booked and/or planned.

I will be flying into Belgrade, and I am just wondering how easy it is to travel throughout Serbia/Bosnia by bus and train to places beyond the city centers of Sarajevo and Mostar? If I wanted to go to the various National Parks, are there buses that take you there, do I need to book day trips with companies to do these types of trips, etc.? Had I known I was going to be traveling solo, I would have planned this much better and well in advance. But now, I quite literally just have the flight.

What hotels are best/safe to stay in that have reliable internet to take work calls in the evening, what are the must go to "local" restaurants, what do you need to plan in advance in terms of going to the national parks and river rafting, etc.? Are there any other must do activities? Also recognize there is a heat wave going on, and with many establishments not having A/C, I'd like to be close to water bodies to cool down and not necessarily city walking the whole time. I love getting immersed in local culture and foods, 1-2 day of touristy things is fine, but would really like to see and experience things as a local.

Any suggestions would be welcome, as I now have to plan this segment of the trip in the next day or so.

Thanks so much in advance.

Ideas for Venues/Spaces to host an event for NYC Climate Week

Hi there! A group of former USAID employees formed a new consulting group to revive some of the health and environment projects that lost funding last year. We will be attending NYC Climate Week (20-27 Sept). Our venue unfortunately fell through, and now scrambling to find a space to host our resource mobilization event. I understand this time of year is incredibly busy and expensive, but hoping that this group might be able to support with ideas.

We are looking for a space that can accommodate approx 150 people. We want to host an event on nature finance and launch a new blended finance facility to pitch to investors, VCs, etc. (If you have some ideas of folks who operate in this space - would love some leads as well!)

Does anyone have recommendations on venue spaces that can fit that many people, with furniture, AV support, etc. included in a package deal? At the moment, we are all volunteers and operating on an incredibly tight budget. We've seen that venues are going for 30-40K, which is not feasible for our team to cover. Understand that it is a tall order to find a space in NYC for free, but I'd love some advice/ideas on spaces in and around Midtown that would be available for 4-5 hours for under $4K.

Thanks so much in advance!

Pupganics, Dog is Human, Nira Health - are any of these probiotics legitimate replacements for Apoquel or Cytopoint?

Hello Dog Health Community,

I have a 5 year old Yorkie Terrier/Japanese Spitz mix dog that I found and adopted in Nairobi, Kenya. I had her for approximately 1 year before importing her to DC, where we lived for 10 months before now coming to California. When moving to DC, I put her on the Farmers Dog diet supplemented with the Blue Buffalo Wilderness small dog kibble. She never had an itching problem until she came to California. Now she is itchy and scratching herself like crazy and in so much discomfort. Nothing has changed in her diet. Took her to the vet, they are basically peddling Apoquel and Cytopoint as monthly injections.

I've done Apoquel pills 2x now, and the Cytopoint injection also 2x. Obviously, really not sustainable financially. The last Cytopoint shot she got, she literally started scratching herself within two weeks. I've changed eliminated the chicken from the Farmer's Dog subscription so she's just getting beef and turkey and I also switched her kibble Purina Pro Plan for Sensitive Skin (Salmon x Rice combo) in addition to Wild Salmon oil. Still nothing is relieving her.

I've been getting a lot of advertisements now for Pupganics, Dog is Health, and NiraPet probiotic pills. Are these legit and do they work? Are there any other natural supplements or suggestions that don't involve shots and monthly vet visits?

Her underarms are now completely raw and she's losing so much of her fur. I'd love a solution to get her out of her scratching misery.

Thanks so much!

Dog hurt in downtown, No one answering the Animal Cruelty Phone Line

Hi - I live downtown by Ocean Towers, and the other day I saw two dogs quite literally mauling a poor female dog that clearly had puppies somewhere close by. I screamed bloody murder to get the dogs to stop and she was able to limper away. It was absolutely horrific to see and hear!

It's been two weeks now and I've seen a very very badly injured puppy sitting under the rose bushes directly outside of the Urban Development Corporation. It can barely get up. I've provided it with water on a few occasions coming from the gym, but I can't seem to get the Animal Cruelty Dept on the phone to pick it up. It doesn't look like it will make it over the next few days.

Is there anyone else I can call to find and help this dog?
