I am in shock. Finally starting to figure out tension.

I have crocheted on and off for a long time, but adhd isn't kind to my focus, so other than the last year it has been mostly off. My tension has always been ridiculously tight. I have made 3 amigurumi type projects, some scarves etc. I had no clue how much faster it goes when you aren't holding the yarn like life depends on it. The hours I spent on those tiny animals. What do I even do now?!?! I can finish my two WIPs today probably. My speed has multiplied legit x10. I need suggestions on projects to do now that my grip has loosened. I am still in shock lol. Release the yarn! It makes an INSANE difference!

Little fox

Got this kit for 3.99 at a discount store. My third kit, hands down the cheapest and the best so far. I have never Woobled though lol.🤣Instructional videos with the pattern if needed as well. I have one more of these kits for a different animal. I will be doing rounds and joining instead of in a spiral like the pattern says. It made it hard to line everything up for me. I gave up on the ears. My kids was sick of waiting for the toy lol. I think a few might be discontinued hence the discount store, but 100% reccomend the brand they still have a bunch and the pattern was top notch. My kid put their big fox in the pic as well they decided this is the baby lol. Oh and these aren't the eyes that came with it. I broke them trying to attach them with pliers🤣

Sunscreen moisturizer that isn't greasy.

It is going to be around 90 degress farenheit where I live today and I am not using any of my sunscreen moisturizers. I can't with the shiny grease face anymore. I have one by Olay and another by Cetaphil and they make me look so greasy and shiny. I usually have dry skin. The shine magnifies every old acne scar on my face by like 100. I also get tons of painful zits. So I am embracing the sun today😭. I do have the Clinique foundation that says it is spf 25, but I put it on lightly so don't trust just that. For so many years I used the basic Neutrogena moisturizer with a light sunscreen but it is now hard to find in my area. Any sunscreen moisturizers that don't feel like you are caking on grease?! Also I can't do retinol. I regularly get my face waxed, and retinol literally makes my skin peel off with the wax. But that is another post for a different day lol. Bonus if it something I can get at Fred Meyer etc., but willing to travel and spend for the right sunscreen if needed lol. The Ulta by me is just closed for construction currently. 😭Thanks!

Favorite fasten off method for arigurumi pieces? What do you prefer.

Do we slip stitch into the next then cut and pull it through?, slip stitch then chain one and pull it through? Or just no slip stitch and just chain one and pull through? I am finally doing patterns mostly on my own, but my brain is frazzled from watching too many tutorials with everyone doing this differently. Currently doing a pattern with t shirt yarn. (Non Woobles lol)If that makes a difference.

Thanks!

How to attach sticker eyes so they don't just fall off.

Been working on a stuffie toy for my 6 year old for a month. Almost finished but the included eyes and nose are those stickers they include in the kits. Do I peel the backing and stick it?! Try to sew it? Hot glue? Helllp lol

Almost cried at a yard sale

My dear husband pulled over because he has sharp eyes and spotted a ton of yarn at a yard sale. He was correct, bins and bins not all cheap stuff either. I started picking some out then I noticed. The bagged yarn had water in the bags! Did a sniff test on the other yarn and it failed. Had to walk away before I thought about it too much. Knew if I stayed I would be trying to figure out how to wash it. Had already been planning this white blanket I was going to make with all the white cotton yarn they had. $1 per skein😭. Had to complain to someone who would understand. How does water or liquid get into bagged yarn?!?! PNW life everything is soggy!

Feet!

My husband is a wonderful human with nasty feet. Athletes foot, possible toenail fungus etc. He treats it often, but in his workboots it never fully goes away. 😭We were playfully wrastling about, and I accidentally scraped one of his feet by his toenails pretty good with a sharp after pedicure toe nail. Will I end up with foot/ nail fungus, or am I tripping and need to drink less caffeine?🤣🤣🤣🤣 I washed my foot. Put a little rubbing alcohol on the toe nail, which I am sure did nothing and I am fooling myself. Lol. Anything else I should do? Thanks in advance!

Washing shower curtain liner with magnets.

I saw the absolutely genius suggestion to wash on cold in the machine with some towels. I think I will throw it in there with the fabric shower curtain when the time comes. My question is if there is magnets on the liner will this still work? I hate the idea of the waste to replace each time. However, the idea of not attempting to scrub a shower curtain liner might be worth replacing the one I have with a magnet free version asap lol. TIA

Skincare newbie

I am late 30s and new to skincare. I tried retinol awhile ago and was enjoying it, until without knowledge I got my face waxed, and due to the retinol it literally pulled lots of my skin off with the wax. So I healed from that and recently picked up some serum that is peptides with collagen. I have been using for about 4 days, and I swear I look ten years older already. It seems to have brought out acne scars I haven't seen in years and made them stand out. I do have some slight scarring on my face. What am I doing wrong?! Help!

Air vent smells like mold/mildew

Don't know where to start. Apparently previous owners had head pump/ furnace flooding issues but we have been here awhile with no issues. Now one room in our home smells noticeably like mold/mildew. It is most noticeable by one vent. The air vents are kinda gross but have been since we bought it. More like dirt and crumbs dropped in there than mold. Looked into air duct cleaning, but was told it was mostly a scam. Unsure if we should get the ducts cleaned, around a grand for a legit place, replace them, prob 8 grand. Or get mold testing done first? Also about a grand. Where do I begin I am lost. In a crazy high cost of living area.

First Amigurumi

First one I had fun. I have done scarves etc before so not a complete newbie. For under five dollars I have no complaints, however I wouldn't say the kit is beginner friendly. Rows 20 and 21 needed to be adjusted to look OK in my opinion. I did OK but definitely had to ask questions and look up youtube videos to complete it. The horns aren't on in the correct order, but the yarn is cheap and splits and I thought if I were to pull it off and redo it it would look worse lol. There are unfortunately no tutorials for this kit I could find. My life would have been much easier if there had been lol.

Gunshots Near the Y on Meridian last night

I heard shots in the middle of the night last night. Checked the online police scanner and saw something about the Copper Valley Apartments. Just hoping and praying everyone is OK! I couldn't find anything on the news.

Sickness going around

I am up late coughing so hard I am throwing up. Sickness has went through entire family. Starts off as fluey/ pukey, then right when you think you are getting better the worst cough of your life starts. Are others in the area dealing with this?! This is a bad one. At least it is me now and not the kids! Open to any and all suggestions at this point. If my cough medicine stays down so I can sleep for a few hours I will be happy at this point. 😭 It has literally been a couple weeks of this in our household as it jumps from person to person.

Safe places for women and children to go walking.

Looking for areas I can take a big stroller with a kid or two in it to go for walks. Walking paths at parks etc. Preferably South hill somewhere between the mall and sunrise. I prefer not super packed but also not secluded if that makes sense. I had a random man harass me at my usual walking space(thankfully without my kids!) and I no longer feel like it is a safe spot. TIA

Parent here. One of my kiddos is needing extra help and this is all super new to me. The school counselor suggested IEP testing so I have been doing the consent forms etc. What is up with the medicaid consent form? We would no way qualify for medicaid. Is this a privacy issue in any way? There is an adoption occurring due to serious substance issues with a bio parent. I am looking for reassurance that the IEP info, school name, our address etc wont be shared with or pop up on a medicaid/ mychart portal somewhere with this bio parent. I know it sounds nuts, but you absolutely wouldn't believe the stuff we have dealt with. We are boring and like to live peaceful drama free lives as it is best for us and our kiddos.

Thanks in advance

I have a kiddo in public school for Kinder and I have not been a fan. Kiddo has some reading and speech issues and the the school is looking into IEP testing. If I allow this would it make future homeschooling more difficult? Would it make it make it so Christian/ Private schools wouldn't allow my student to attend? I would be willing to get outside tutoring etc when needed.

Thanks in Advance
