Anyone take alpha lipoic acid? Is it worth it?
Lipoic acid might be one of the most confusing compounds I've come across. On the one hand, it noticeably reduces oxidative damage, has neuroprotective properties, and can regenerate intestinal stem cells. At the same time, however, it seems to either reduce lifespan or have a null effect in mice. It did succeed in fruit flies and worms, but I see that as being irrelevant.
It seems to be act through hormesis, but determining the most beneficial dose is quite difficult https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37169059/
Is it worth it for longevity or would you just take it for its potential neuroprotective properties? I'm looking for anyone's opinion!
ND Sarcosine product is amazing
Just tried the sarcosine product, I really like it. It makes me feel calm and relaxed.
I also like the sweet taste, almost tastes like candy haha.
I'm really impressed that Nootropics Depot carries it. I haven't seen another company producing it.
I'm mostly taking it because it's really promising for aging: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6280974/
